I just decided to take 5 minutes out of my life too do a high zoom up on the photo and i think i noticed rust in those circular holes, is that rust?? if so it can explain a lot..

Believe it or not it is not rust !!!!!!

I hope my post was not misleading. My post assumes the nickel/iron test was done to the INSIDE of the rock. The rarety of nickel/iron earth rocks is so rare, the test is used to confirm that a rock most likely came from space. Nickel plating is a man-made process not in question here. TTC

You might also want to add SS's offer to your item description on Ebay.
Something interesting, like "Have been offered a high dollar amount, but couldn't agree on international exchange rates."
That should get some attention.

Its a generous offer and possibly the best you will get. I would love to sell some of the items in my scrap bucket of unknowns for 30 dollars.

BTW maybe you should repost pictures of the item in question every few pages. Good luck with eBay and let us know so we can follow it and show our support.. It has little value IMO but someone may buy it just out of curiosity. Afterall 2 members voted over $20 and you only need 1 buyer. Too bad you cant see a Jesus image on it. DIAZ youve been a lot of fun and a good sport this time around.

I also agree that you can see rust color in the pits.

Believe it or not, I just got a letter from a gentleman in Nigeria the other day that would like to wire over a million US$ in funds into my checking account and for my assistance I get to keep some of it--apparently his brother used to work for the government or something like that. The timing is uncanny, just now when this item is about to go up for sale! So when the funds get transferred, I will give Silver Searcher a run for his money!
