I cant believe there is only 13 votes, it is basically half the people thinks its junk and the other half dont...... ....
Not really. An old damaged weight or blacksmith drift is basically a vote for under $20. Thats all they are worth. I am surprised you have 2 votes over 20.

Hello there!!!

this is the first thing that came to my mind when you said that it was iron and you found it at or in the lake??? Why is it not rusted?? I read this from Earth Forbidden Secrets many years back.

A Pillar of much too Pure Iron
In Delhi India there is an Iron Pillar that has completely defied metallurgists by remaining
absolutely rust free for the last 1600 years, ever since its discovery by the west (fig.45). It’s
unclear for how long the pillar has actually been standing for (in fact there is more than one of
these in India) but the problem lies in the fact that such rust free iron, of the type that is found in
these pillars is unheard of in our modern technology.
These iron pillars are in fact a metallurgist nightmare, or dream, depending on your mindset,
but one truly interesting thing is the fact that the only other place completely rust free iron has
been located, is in rock samples that were brought back from the moon during the Apollo

missions!

I am M...Y....S....tified????

Yes I read that about pure iron. However it did rust/corrode as evidenced by the pock marks. Unless the holes are faked/drilled.

A suggestion would be to mail it to a TN member who could determine the metal. Is it soft? I see the tip is broken. Can you cut/scratch it with a knife? Is it lead based?

I wasn't going to bother posting on this thread, but being it's been bumped up to the top again--I would have liked to have voted "Junk Valued at Under $2" :laughing7:

Mr. Meteorite says he is 100 percent sure its not a meteorite. Its also posted on the meteorite form.

I am realizing that the poster will ignore the experts and hang on to anyone that even remotely suggests its a meteorite. While I am trying to help, I should have realized from the beginning that nothing will change DIAZs mind that he has found somerthing strange and valuable. I dont see how I can be of any further assistance.

Im always willing to learn and I will check back because Im curious as to why 2 members voted over $20. Are they just fueling the fire?

I to thought it was a meteorite projectile, but someone who only looked at a pic of it , claims hes 100% sure its not ? how can you be 100% sure about something by looking at a pic?

ok i will keep that in mind , Thank You!

Anyone who feels this find is rust free should go look at an old boat ar ship that has been freshly sandblasted. Metal plate that has been badly rusted then sandblasted or needle-gunned looks just like that whatever it is. I voted for junk. Interesting thread.
