I looked at the youtube video that was posted, and while the "stones" were in the girl's hand, I paused the video, I saw plainly that the stones ARE a reflective bronze color.........NGE
i could here metal clacking together on the video

not sure the game has been explained this good. so here's a descriptive english spoken way to play.

still plastic:

Embedded media from this media site is no longer available

I don't doubt in the least that they were made of every material, clay, metal, etc. All I am looking for is a set like these if that is what these are. That is where the problem lies, producing even a set with even the slightest resemblance of images. Only the shape seems to be the same, and I have been told too many times, by Koreans, that they are just as mistified as to their usage, or identification.

This is kind of a lame explanation as to what I see. It is like a quarter compared to a slug. They both are round, the same size, and both are metal. and they both work in a vending machine. However, they are not the same thing because one has markings that have meaning. The other is just a slug, and something completely different. I want to see the quarter.

All I'm saying is shape is shape, and I have seen the slugs. Show me a set with even simular sports markings. I only used that as an example, there are lots of things with the same shape and size in this world, but they are not the same thing. As far as reaching a conclusive meaning of the games pictured, there has always been doubt to every explanation because one sport or another doesn't fit into the sports or time of games. You might call it a wrench in the cogs. Go back and read, an areement to the sports have never been made by all the people, just the die hards. The only thing that means something to me, is seeing the quarter....ie, Washington, Standing Liberty, whatever. That way we will know at least a little of the real history of these instead of just speculation.

here's a crazy turn of events. still plastic but they have something inside them.
this is only something written--me thinks there has got to be a link to metal commerative issue.

here's the link but i've quoted what is said...

http://s2.zetaboards.com/KoreanMusicRealm/topic/663167/1/

"This happened after i watched the American version of 'The Ring'.

I got home and I started playing korean jacks (gong gi) and I somehow
managed to lose one under my bed (which was against the wall). I felt
too lazy to go retrieve it so I left it alone.

It was finally time for bed, so I turned off the lights and turned on my
mp3 player since I usually listen to music before I end up falling asleep.
I suddenly woke up in the middle of the night, and everyone else in
the household was sleeping. So I lie there trying to go back to sleep.

Then I hear this weird sound on the floor under my bed. And I realized
it sounded like my jack piece (for those of you who dont know, Korean
jacks are usually filled with rice grains or little metal pieces, so they
make this little sound when you throw them around). I was already
freaked out from the movie 'cause ya know, I cant watch scary movies!
OH MY GAWD, I threw the blanket over my head and blasted my music."

LOL! Time to put a little humor in here. I garantee these have nothing in them, but they have caused insanity and nightmares.

I agree. Everything now days is made of plastic. But it may give us a MAJOR clue as to the origins of these.

I think that they are "Stamps". Have seen similar items that are used in leather working and metals. Let us know if you get a confirmation on what they are.

I would have believed stamps if not for the one with words on it. the words would have to be backwards so that when stamped they would read correctly. kills that theory. ;)

So in effect If they are both the same Shape they are the
same Thing ?

SWR finding the actual brand 'Sports Jack Stones' and the image call is IMO the actual ID. I've not read all the pages, however no doubt on credit due to BCH. Well done both of you :notworthy: :notworthy:
I didnt really have anything to do with the ID. I just agree with PBK that this is too close a match to be anything else.

I agree If they are; PBK Already Id'd them as such

& I Still Believe they Are

But still want to see A Package of them
or at least another from a different source

any chance of putting wrenchs on one of them? experiment with weight adjustment. ::)

i still say put a jumping bean in there. :laughing9:

I wish someone would get a set of these and put an end to this madness. Nothing would make me happier. Even if they are plastic. The only thing that would disappoint me would be that the history, or story of these metal ones would remain unknown. The objects would be positively identified, and everyone would be happy.

$900.00????? For PLASTIC game pieces? And you said the metal ones were not worth the pot metal put into them, on top of that they are extremely more rare as this thread has proved. Maybe they will send you a close up of their product....all sides of them. $900.00 LOL :laughing9:

Why don't you try? After all, you have put up the biggest arguement on these of anybody. Besides, then you can collect the rewards offered. ;D

i checked other products on the link to see how prices compare...well, $900 is not u.s. dollars.

you knew that, right? :sign13:

this stuffed...(whatever it is) is priced at $350.00

i think it's clear to say a little stuffed animal is a couple hundred dollars means it is not u.s. dollars.

Looks like you are getting a bit closer to the end of the riddle. If someone CAN get a set, or better pictures of the plastic ones and they do have the same images, then that would prove they are the gongi pieces.

That still leaves unanswered questions.......Where are any pictures of metal ones??? Were the ones Piggman found the only metal set made--- and Why????? :tongue3: :tongue3: :tongue3:
