Fishing for Silver- Fish On!s CRH Log

I ran around this morning dumping some coins. I had a little extra time and the banks were open, so I picked up a box of quarters and a box of dimes. The dimes were all 2013's. The quarters produced a 1954 washington. It's been a while since I found a quarter in a box, so I was happy. It's actually the first time in a few weeks I have searched dimes or quarters. Dumping didn't produce too much in the way of foreign, I guess the banks are slow so they spent the morning cleaning out the coin machines.

I picked up my last four boxes of the week today. Not a bad day:

Box 1: 1x40%
Box 2: 1x40%
Box 3: 1x90%('64)
Box 4: skunk

I didn't look for any teller tray scores this week. I pretty much just dealt with the ten boxes of halves that came in. I ended up with an average of 1 silver per box over the week (50% 40's/50% 90's) That works for me. Right now I have 14 boxes of halves on order for next week and I'm thinking about potentially upping that a little bit if I can figure out how.

Good Day!

I should have had 6 boxes of halves to pick up today, but the one bank forgot to order 4 boxes for me. They said they will have them by Friday, so no biggie. I searched the two that I did pick up and they were good. Here is the break down:

Box 1: 4x90%(2x'64, 1x'63 Franklin, 1x'46 Walker) 2x40%
Box 2: 1x90%('62 Franklin) 2x40%

Two of the rolls in box 1 had a 90% and a 40% in each so that was neat even though they were spread out in the box. I also got the Franklin in Box 1 in a roll that had a Buffalo Boy-marked half. I took a pic of the occurrence:

I should have 12 more boxes of halves coming in this week. I hope the silver keeps flowing.:headbang:

Today was pretty bad. I picked up six boxes of halves. I ended up with one 40%. Oh well, I hope tomorrow is more like yesterday than today.

6 boxes yesterday, all skunks. That puts me on a 10 box skunk streak. The one bank yesterday actually ordered me 4 extra boxes, so I'll pick those up today. I almost don't want to since they are probably from the same batch all the other skunks are from. I'll buy them anyway and hopefully I find something.

Not great, but I had a better day today. I picked up the 4 "extra" boxes that the one bank ordered for me:

Box 1: 1x90%('54 Franklin)
Box 2: Skunk
Box 3: 2x40%
Box4: Skunk

At least I got some silver today. Next week I'm probably going back to lower volume. I may change my mind, but that is how it is looking right now. My week totals were 18 boxes searched and the finds were 6x90% and 7x40% Not even a one per box average. The week started with a bang and fizzled quickly, but I still added 3.2 ounces to the pile.

Good luck today Fish on!, I hope you hit the jackpot! some of my best boxes have actually popped up in the middle of skunk streaks, so you never know, it takes one great box to make all the skunks worth it...

not bad, 3 keepers for 4 boxes and a ben too!

Thanks. I'm hoping I get to finish my roll of franklins. Today's gave me an even dozen. I also found a few of your halves. One box had one from 9/something, so I guess last September. Another was from this past April.

I've been getting some of my marked coins scattered throughout my boxes with older dates on them as well, I think that is a sign that the coins have been seperated and that you're not recieving a direct dump from me. If you found 10 or so of my coins in one box you might have a direct dump from me. I just got one of my "12 12 12" half dollars. I marked only 12 of them on 12/12/12 as a little special thing to see if anybody would find one and I did :P

I still think that Franklin came from your dump bank. lol

Good day of dumping.

I had a ton of halves to dump today. I made a major dump at my main dump bank which is great for getting the halves into a different courier and easy as far as the dumping process. After that, I decided I would hit a bunch of my non-preferred dump banks to dump just enough to trigger bag changes, so I could check reject tubes, look out for Ikes, grab foreign, etc.

I found a '48 and '61 roosevelt in one reject tube. I found another steel wheat cent. I also got a free Ike out of one count plus all the usual foreign.

That's pretty awesome finding silver while dumping. It's happened to me only a few times.
Good luck this week!

I picked up six boxes today. Not too good, not too bad. I'll take it:

Box 1: 3x40%
Box 2: 1x'64
Box 3: skunk
Box 4: skunk
Box 5: skunk
Box 6: 1x40%

I found 3 clad proofs as well. The boxes weren't great, but I'm happy I found some silver. I have four more coming this week. I backed off a little because I'm busy with other stuff.
I also found some great info out from my main dump bank. I've never managed to fill their coin counter. Today, they were taking some slips out of it and I could tell it has a large central bin for all denominations. I asked if I was about to fill it. They said it was 32% full. I asked if they would take a reading after I dumped my $1500 in halves. They obliged and it was then 35% full. This coin machine is amazing. I'm going to have to get a forklift to fill this thing.

that's pretty sweet for $1500 in halves to only fill 3% of the bin... that means the bin can hold $50,000 in halves haha

that is amazing...I got cutoff from a bank with a coin machine because it kept filling up every time I went to dump (they weren't changing the bags regularly). This put me on the managers radar and I ended up getting a letter saying they were changing my account to a business account with a monthly fee and counting fee. They also gave me a total that I have dumped of $12000. No way I was going to pay fees...so I closed the account. You are fortunate to have a bank that is friendly to CRH'ers.

I know, I'm dying to stuff it. And the thing gets emptied once a week by either the armored car service or some other guy that comes in. This means that the tellers and the manager really don't care how much I bring in.

I am really happy that I have this bank. The tellers are all super nice. I'm sure you can find a good dumping option if you look around. I actually found this one because I randomly went in there looking for halves.
