deus update sept 18th

what im talking about what about if it is a whole new deus with no upgrades to the new deus?

Ky

Like the others have said its a software update. The machine is not changing. However there will be new accessories that will be available that compliments the software update. Things like a new small coil that operates in 10, 20, 30, & 40 kHz (for gold hunting...but there will be benefits to relic hunting in the 10-20 kHz range IMO). There will also be a wireless pinpointer (integrated I think), and later a a two box setup for really deep treasure hunting. The base machine as you know it today does not change. It's like XP says "the Deus is the Swiss Army knife of detectors". New software and new accessories. Hope that clears it up for you.

ok thanks all for the info one of these days i will own a deus!!! because everything that i have saw they are great machines

5 more days. :)

5 more days and I aint got no money.

Yeah I'm running low too. Got enough for the pinpointer though. Guess I gotta get motivated and work some OT.

I think it would be wise to set expectations low as far as any ground breaking new capabilities with the update.

I wish they would rework the pinpoint, I hate pressing it and it is in the on mode until you backspace it out, would much rather just press on, let go off like most detectors.

Wait where did you get this information? And where can I read about these info leaks?

UH, what information ?
What I know is basically contained in this thread and another MD forum which, as I understand it, links or even mention of the name are not permitted.

The consensus seems to be, so far, that the update will mostly concern the integration of a new coil and pinpointing device. Whether that is true or not remains to be seen.

This piece of information confused me. I thought you were talking about the new pin pointer.

Oh, no I was referring to the control box pinpoint.

Yeah I'm hoping the new pinpointer is integrated with the tones and program you are running.

hard to see a reason/need for such finesse for a pinpointer, we need them just to tell us if we are within an inch or so of a small metal object.
But keeping with the detectors whole theme it would seem likely it will be wireless and integrated - And priced to induce instant sticker shock as well. I'm hoping I can resist unless it offers something the garrett carrot can't do [outside of chiming through wireless headphones].

That would be nice. I loved my old in-line DX-1.

I agree with you Xray. I never understood the need for a pinpointer to brag it could hit a target at 6 inches. Maybe if you are using it for something other than pinpointing....but not for finding a target in a hole that you just dug.

What I'm really looking for is something that doesn't false all the time and won't interfere with the coil itself. My TRX is real bad about this. Especially if I'm running in 12kHz. But seeing as how both the coil and the pinpointer are made by XP, I would assume they have this worked out. Don't really care about any other bells and whistles. Although anything extra would be a bonus.

More than 2" range for a quarter sized object would be counter productive.
We already know its approximate location with the machines pinpoint, which is why we have dug a hole at that spot in the 1st place.

The pinpointers function from there is to help precisely locate the item, and hopefully avoid any damage to a possible valuable metal object.

Will be interesting to see what it offers. If wireless, priced sky high and aimed exclusively at XP users, hard to see it making much of a dent in an already well populated market. You'd think they would want to break out and offer something everyone can use, maybe they will and offer 2 versions.

edit: True about interference, both the XP and garrett were falsing pretty bad when they got close, but a little freq bump on the XP pretty much took care of that.

I don't even have a Deus, but I am getting caught up in the suspense.
