deus update sept 18th

Doesn't seem like an upgrade thread discussion without Deft Tones in here mocking us for getting all excited about this impending release.

Oh!

Imagine my lack of excitement. We're gaining a whole half point reactivity resolution....whoooo-freakin-whooo!

The trash and iron rings have no place to hide now. Finds will be flying out of the soil!

:laughing7: Kids on Christmas are cute. Adults....not so much. :laughing7:

Ad says there will be no normalization or TX adjust available on new hardware..... awesome!

XP decided to make it fun for some of you planning on jewelry/coin hunting with the new coils, eh? :laughing9:

It's a tone machine so I never use ID normalization - in fact, even if I use the display, I take advantage of ID Norm not being there to change freq to see how the TID changes with freq which gives you a clue on target validity (aka as the rusted bottlecap trick) otherwise I know how to add a few clicks up or down to my memorized 8 khz numbers. ID Norm is for newbs. In fact I am hating that XP is now making ID Normal default to on. Regarding TX power, it's locked at TX 2 for 4 khz too and on ALL the side (shift) frequencies on the existing hardware so I am not surprised they are limiting Tx power at these high frequencies on these extreme coils, especially since the these new coils have multiple frequency settings on the low end range - pretty impressive. Besides, who needs the emi and wasted power when operating up there (I use Tx 2 as my typical default since it provides the best tradeoff between preserving battery power and performance in extreme soil conditions)? Rather they make these miniscule tradeoffs rather than making the new coils incompatible with the same SW used for the legacy coils. Its called tradeoffs and is a necessary evil when engineering new features into legacy hardware.

Man, if you are going to rain on my parade, you are going to have to try a little harder. Put some thought into it next time, eh? I know you can bring it better - perhaps not enough coffee or irish coffee? :occasion18:

Regarding the trash and iron rings - did you not read about improved X-Y display and lower range disc mode to better discern the nature of low iron and make the Deus closer to a true all metal machine?

Why are you trying so hard to be negative but failing so miserably? Is it because you are miserable?

Regarding Christmas kids: Nyah, Nyah Nyah, Nyah Nyah, Nyaaah!

Come on to the Dark Side Deft Tones and I will proclaim you the Guru of Deus Gurus. :headbang:

Well,

I try to liven it up a little:
Dealer in Europe said he will have pinpointers on stock 23rd Feb. Seems this time its real.

Why would a tone machine need an improved XY screen? :laughing9:

Perhaps for noobs?

Deus does not have a real all metal mode. Please.

All metal like an ATPro perhaps. Where is my threshold and SAT settings?

Can't seem to find that.

Because you obviously use ID norm training wheels for coin and jewelry hunting, so I thought you should know so you don't pick up those all those iron washers. No charge for the advice. A simple thank you will suffice. :icon_thumright:

Never said it was. You have reading comprehension problems. Said, "closer to a true all metal machine". Obviously it's not true all metal, as XP has admitted by the additional tweaks.

I mean seriously, do you want to do this? Sad.

Where is the Threshold setting on an AT Pro? Can't seem to find that on my AT Pro :)

Deft Tones. If XP actually does release this stuff, why don't you make an updated "Downfall" parody video about how crappy it is. I mean, that was funny the first time when we were all frustrated waiting for it for months. I am not kidding. I really enjoyed your vid.

No. I would have quoted you.

I'm planning to make my very own rediculous XP videos and shutting down the comments section.

I'm sure they will go viral too.

Keep your eyes peeled.

Bye. :hello:

What the heck are you going on about? I couldn't care less about your AT Pro. I know what a threshold setting is. Grasping?

Bye. :hello: < ironic that this emojii is called "hello". Man, DT, you really lost me. Good luck to you. Wish there was a Twilight Zone emojii....

He came and he left, right on queue. He doesn't disappoint. I miss him already. :icon_scratch:

Anyhoo - lost in all of that weirdness was Namxat's post - that is great news! Thanks for sharing.

That comment was made by your "friend" lol and my post was not meant for you! Someone is cranky today! There is NO threshold setting on the AT Pro, you know I'm 100% Dues fan Boy at this point
