Short handled Grub hoe.
This one was a recovery. Was at a old cellar hole.
No small targets even.

Christmas is over... :PHoe1 hoe! hoe!
Wouldn't know it around my house.Christmas is over... :P
There are those that adhere and there are those who don't .. or won't .. regardless of how much one preaches the sermon. For all of you that are new to this craft.
When you do not adhere to the above three things... you threaten the craft of metal detecting.
I for one... did not spend my life building a relationship with everyone from Park Rangers on to have some "newbie" screw it up because they got a detector and decided they were just going to detect "the way they want" and screw everyone else.
I for one am not one to just say "f--k it" just because of this and not try. There are those that adhere and there are those who don't .. or won't .. regardless of how much one preaches the sermon.
Have fun with that.I for one am not one to just say "f--k it" just because of this and not try.
Again... "if your not part of a solution - Your part of the problem"
And i wont sit quiet / idle.
Love the craft too much to not say anything.
And you and everyone else should do the same... especially if you see it happening.
So you would say nothing i take it by this attitude ?Have fun with that.
It's like telling a smoker not to smoke, or an alcoholic not to drink, or a litterbug not to litter. If they are going to do it, it makes no difference what I say .. or what you say. Now that I am an old man, I'll save my breath to cool my coffee. So you would say nothing i take it by this attitude ?
Yeah ... well i cannot take that stance / attitude. It's like telling a smoker not to smoke, or an alcoholic not to drink, or a litterbug not to litter. If they are going to do it, it makes no difference what I say .. or what you say. Now that I am an old man, I'll save my breath to cool my coffee.
I started relic hunting in 1968. I didn't need anybody to tell me to fill my holes and carry out the junk. Back then, it was called common sense and common courtesy. I guess the young ones you refer to have neither?Yeah ... well i cannot take that stance / attitude.
I like being able to detect where i do... and i will take whatever opportunity that arises to inform those who may NOT know the correct way to detect in hopes it takes.
Its the young that now have to carry this torch... but they cannot carry what they are not aware of or don't know.
If what I say here changes ONE persons mind about the way they detect then every stroke of the keyboard was worthwhile in my book.
I don't know about your area but here detecting has been squeezed into the crevices already... and it did not start there.
I would like future generations to have the opportunities to detect the same areas we have one day.
Not just looking out for myself... one must also be a caretaker.
We have about the same time in on this hobby/passion.I started relic hunting in 1968. I didn't need anybody to tell me to fill my holes and carry out the junk. Back then, it was called common sense and common courtesy. I guess the young ones you refer to have neither?
Ever dug someone else's dead batteries deep in the ground? Now THAT is a slap in the face. What really irks me is the people that not only don't remove the trash they dig, but they ADD to it !
I'm sure if, my grandfather was still alive, and I used his adze to dig dirt, and nicked the blade on rocks, he would strangle me.True the Adze is usually for wood, but it could be used in dirt.
Grub Hoe is the main reference for me.
The long mixed salad one is a gagger image description for a flee Bay sale.
Thanks for keeping it simple! We have about the same time in on this hobby/passion.
Grew up looking at the ground, was also brought up with simple common sense values.
Like don't litter-yet I see it all the time.
Don't trespass-yet folks do it all the time
Ask permission-I read many accounts where it's obvious that that was never done.
The world is full of folks believing they're entitled to do what ever they like.
That would be too easy to have that happen in life (last sentence)Thanks for keeping it simple!
Just follow the rules is all I ever say!
Oh maybe better..."Do Unto Others as you would have them Do Unto You."
Times have changed, in the big city the off ramp beggers used pick up all the trash.Since we're venting:
I don’t get the videos of detecting a crowded beach without headphones. Why bother others with the beeping? Just tell us when you get a signal
Also, around here beggars standing at intersections with signs. They always leave a pile of trash! Unappreciative.
Those old round Hoes need love too.I also have one that is very old... and unusually round.
