Radio carbon dating is another debate if in fact its absolutely correct. This is a 40,000 year old bracelet found in the Denisovian cave in Siberia. Found in context with bone needles that were radio carbon dated to 40,000 years ago.View attachment 2187486

I didn't want to get into any science with this "oldest" thingy which is why I put mankind's stamp on it. I learned a lot personally. I had fun. It's a very good topic.... especially as 'oldest' dates are regularly being thrown into contention and pushed further back into history...
As Napoleon said...."History is a lie agreed upon"
It does rely on various factors for accuracy. Also it is most accurate in artifacts 60,000 years old or less. Contaminated or degraded samples are its biggest problem.Radio carbon dating is another debate if in fact its absolutely correct.
That's Interesting about the Diamond Sutra Manuscript copy. It's from the Tang Dynasty, the Tang Dynasty was around 600-900AD (CE). The manuscript is still the oldest printed book.OLDEST DATED BOOK... 2893 years old: The Chinese ‘Diamond Sutra’ is indeed the oldest book carrying a physical date, equivalent to 868 BC.
I've got a bottle of Crown Royal dated 1985.My oldest bottle of Rum was one week old.
:P
My oldest bottle of Rum was one week old.
ARC... Your post is pure speculation as it appears it's not dated by mankind.I've got a bottle of Crown Royal dated 1985.
Knowing the pirates of Fl it's still probably fully empty.I've got a bottle of Crown Royal dated 1985.
And it never got any older am I right ? 🤣My oldest bottle of Rum was one week old.
:P
Well sir that is quite impressive and truly a great find...? But since this is a man made and man dated thread for oldest objects it doesn't count. I'm afraid your bottle of Corona just doesn't count unless it dated and proven the world's oldest full Corona bottle. Now my dug up full bottle of Rum from deep in my Tennessee woods counts because it was dated 346AD. Let's move now....I will have you know... I have dug up a full bottle of Corona on a beach once.
Ok now... There's only room for one smartass on this thread and I got there first...! Nice try.
