Curious: Oldest dated artifact known. Book, coin or any item?

This is a 40,000 year old bracelet found in the Denisovian cave in Siberia. Found in context with bone needles that were radio carbon dated to 40,000 years ago.

Radio carbon dating is another debate if in fact its absolutely correct.

It's a very good topic.... especially as 'oldest' dates are regularly being thrown into contention and pushed further back into history...

As Napoleon said...."History is a lie agreed upon"

I didn't want to get into any science with this "oldest" thingy which is why I put mankind's stamp on it. I learned a lot personally. I had fun.

I think the way that American history is being dated further and further back into the past, is very interesting... the serpent mound etc.... All very intriguing

OLDEST DATED BOOK... 2893 years old: The Chinese ‘Diamond Sutra’ is indeed the oldest book carrying a physical date, equivalent to 868 BC.
That's Interesting about the Diamond Sutra Manuscript copy. It's from the Tang Dynasty, the Tang Dynasty was around 600-900AD (CE). The manuscript is still the oldest printed book.
