CRISPINS CRITTERS

I have been wanting to replace my Gibson Les Paul that I sold years ago, offer was too good to refuse. BIG mistake!:BangHead: Today it would be worth 4-5 times as much. So...I have been working on a trade...Two of my guitars for one. An almost exact copy of my Gibby. Much cheaper as it is an Epiphone. AAA flamed maple veneer, not a much thicker cap like a Gibby, over mahogany body. Neck and body binding and I think real MOP trapezoid inlays.

Trade happens. Plays beautifully...just like it looks. I play it for a bit and start to really give it a good once over. Uh-oh. The back plate covering the volume/tone pots does not fit right. Off it comes. Some one has been messing/replacing volume and/or tone pots! One of the volume pots is too long (hence the missing knob as I inspect. Everything works right...but taped wires? You solder and then use heat shrink tubing. So I found a deluxe wiring kit, switchcraft switch and jack and CTS pots, premium shielded wire.... The absolute best. I had very little into the two axe's I traded, I bought them needing repairs. Wait a minute...:laughing7:

Y'all know, like I know....

Imma start over. From the beginning....
An' try to get it right....Again!

I appreciate your thoughts while I "wrasle with an eel greased in possum fat...."

"Keep your chin up, you big palooka. Give 'em a target!"

Certainly helps.

Sorry to butt in Scott...O.K. I'm not but please respond anyway.

I had quite a set years ago ...one book left.
Hit an Appalachian Museum quite a while back , not quite near the Appalachians,,:icon_scratch: that had some relocated structures and lots of old stuff.
Gun making rifling machine of wood.
A poplar barrel carved solid no staves ect.
Not sure why they had some things for sale ,fundraising perhaps.
Acquired a "spider" that saw a lot of use at blackpowder shoots after.

Scott, If I may, USB Flash drives. Very inexpensive. Back your current "project" to the flash drive. Later you can format the flash drive (erase) use it over and over. Me? I back up my backups...That's the truth bradda...:laughing7:

OV,

Sweet looking guitar....thanks for sharing.

Regards + HH

Bill

Well thank you! It will never replace My Gibson, but for being "handcrafted in China" as the ones that haven't had the sticker removed say...It's not bad! I read that Gibson set up a factory in Qingdao JUST to build Epiphones. Shhhhhhhh....

One of those songs that just seems to make things all better. Recommend headphones, eyes closed and extremely loud volume for full effect...........

DAMN!

You owe me a new keyboard because I just drooled all over mine!

Get that guitar!
Got it?
GOOD!

"Wow, don't pull too hard, Boy!
Just, I say, just hard enough to set the hook....
Gotta play him, see! Reel him in slow!
Enjoy the battle as much as the Victory!"

Perhaps I should copyright that original phrase. And sell it to one of these game people....

For big money!

Then I'd be a rich man, Baby!....

Best,

Scott

PS.

Yeah, another all-nighter.
To stay current in my studies.
A quiz was mentioned and Mid-Terms have me worried....

"Are you listenin' Son?"

As long as the neck is true, no body damage (belt marks?) and the frets are smooth and easy on the fingers, the electronics are secondary!

Best,

Scott

PS.
What's the serial Number?

The Visit to Clayton has yet to occur;
Perhaps I should visit soon, as it is in my "neck of the woods."

I have been keen to the "Foxfire" experience since I was a youngster, in Boy Scouts,
WAY back in the 70's.
I earned all of the necessary requirements for the Senior Patrol, First Class Scout, and yada, yada, yada.

Even back then, I knew that reading maps, camping, hiking and survival skills were important.

Yet, no one understood Scott....:dontknow:

"Perhaps they never will...."

Best,

Scott

My New Brother "Critter,"
Perhaps I have failed to welcome you to our little corner of Treasurenet.
I apologize and wish to welcome you at this time.

With your musical selection, you have cut close to my Heart and I will obviously "Tailor" further clues in lieu of this additional information.

It's a "Rat Race!"

Dig?

Yeah, there's a clue in this post.....

"I'm on it, Uncle Jed!"

"But Grandpa, I haven't enough money to buy a chocolate bar for a chance at the "Golden Ticket!!"
(Name the Author. Show a cartoon by the author for another clue.....
See how deep my clues may get?)

Never fear....

All have an equal chance!

"What's Up"

Twenty-five years and my life is still
Trying to get up that great big hill of hope
For a destination
I realized quickly when I knew I should
That the world was made up of this brotherhood of man
For whatever that means

And so I cry sometimes
When I'm lying in bed
Just to get it all out
What's in my head
And I, I am feeling a little peculiar
And so I wake in the morning
And I step outside
And I take a deep breath and I get real high
And I scream from the top of my lungs
What's going on?

[2x]
And I say, hey hey hey hey
I said hey, what's going on?

Ooh, ooh ooh

And I try, oh my god do I try
I try all the time
In this institution
And I pray, oh my god do I pray
I pray every single day
For a revolution

And so I cry sometimes
When I'm lying in bed
Just to get it all out
What's in my head
And I, I am feeling a little peculiar
And so I wake in the morning
And I step outside
And I take a deep breath and I get real high
And I scream from the top of my lungs
What's going on?

[2x]
And I say, hey hey hey hey
I said hey, what's going on?

Twenty-five years and my life is still
Trying to get up that great big hill of hope

I buy/sell/repair a lot of imports. The electronics, and hardware are the downfalls. I change them out whenever possible, especially if I plan on keeping them for a few years.
If you want the serial number no problem. it is made in China though. Please don't smack me brother Scott!:notworthy:

Yep.

I know.

However, I must have clicked the wrong icon or SOMETHING!

Obviously a case of "Idiot User."

Any other questions?

(I certainly hope not.....)
