CRISPINS CRITTERS

Yesterday morning began my weekend.

In the afternoon, I went to my locksmith
Friend's house to install a ceiling fan and some blinds.

All went well!

My eventual plan was to have some time Sunday afternoon to swing one of my beep-sticks.....

This morning, I woke up early to do domestics such as laundry and dishes while
I "Cut the Grass.*
Everything's looking good,
and I happily head out.....

Ever have one of those days?
:BangHead:

one of those days.webp

I found nothing except patience....

My Greatest Find! :notworthy:

My Best, Always,

Scott

* Potential lyrics, ala Weird Al.....

"CUT THE GRASS!
Start the mower
It's all that you need.
Cut the grass!
Takin' care of business
Ya know I'm gonna succeed!"

Today is a great day. I took the 9 y/o fishing on a walkway under a local bridge. His pole bent double" uh grandpa I need help here" the drag was humming.......he was giving it all he had. I started pulling up the line. ( my hands are cut to pieces) I got Nessie to the surface " oh my it's a HAMMERHEAD! The walkway we were on is about 20 feet over the water. I started hand over hand pulling in this monster. I got the shark to the top of the guard rail.....SNAP.... She broke the 12 pound line...... Oh no, no pictures!!!!!!! It was about 3' and about 25 pounds. By far his largest fish yet. He is ecstatic !!!!!!! First thing he does? Call grandma..... Now the lesson learned about the wild. So we start talking I asked him " why do you think a Hammerhead was in the Indian River ? He thinks for a moment and says " well poppa the people beside us kept catching stingrays and that's the natural food of Hammerheads." I'm so proud ! I think I'm training him right! Great day!!!!!

2GF,

Reminds me of a "fishing story" from, my youth.

My Pop, one summer evening, took me catfishing on the Wakarusa river, a river that I nearly drowned in once.

I had collected grasshoppers all afternoon and soon it was time to go!

We got to the river, I baited my hook with the biggest grasshopper and cast him into a narrow channel....

Before Mr. Grasshopper hit the water, a BIG catfish jumped for the snack!

Now, I'm only about 12 years old and still a novice of catfishing....

I set the hook and yank like hell!

I've captured the giant and he is mad as hell!

He tugs and I play line to him hoping to eventually wear him down.....

My, he's big enough for several filet catfish steaks!

Then, he goes upstream....

Ominously, we all should know what that means....

He then shoots downstream,
creating a situation that breaks my rod, then my line.....:BangHead:
Disgusted, I throw the rest of my rod and reel into the river after him.....

Be well, my Catfish Friend, be well...

Best,

Scott

There is nothing like fishing. I fished a lot as a kid. I had a collapsible fishing pole, sterno stove and a back pack. I was after all a Boy Scout. My parents dropped us off with anybody, anywhere, all the time( another story) I was in the 7 th grade and didn't live with my parents. I walked 2 miles to school....... So I decided since nobody cared about me I'd take a day off a week! I would make a shelter in the Australian pines, I could hear the school bells and took binoculars so I could tell when school was out...... Z and I would Fish or chase alligators all day........ WOOOHOOO that was fun and why not nobody cared if I lived or died so I had fun!!!

How shall America's wars be fought?

With the strength of Patriots and Veterans like me! 8-)

Do not mistake the "slow" way of the South....

As you start your week,
Remember that if you kiss a toad in the morning,
that should be the worst moment of the day....:laughing7:

Unless it's a Prince in disguise.

Like me..... Seriously.......

Hope all "sail" through the week ahead!

My Best Wishes,

Folks,

I've posted this one up before but well worth bringing it forward.

Rod Stewart was discovered by Long John Baldry busking at a train station and Rod is paying it forward by giving exposure to Amy Belle who was doing the same thing....such a natural talent.

Scott.....

In Music, one may find joy.

Perhaps sorrow.

But everyone will find a connection with the right song.....and the right emotion....

Music is my medicine....

Yeah, I know, RC,

One must be cautious of Granny's potions.....

Folks,

Here's a blast from the past.....Green Onions....

Rep Bill Nelson announced he has prostate cancer and will be having surgery Monday. Dang that's a real bummer Two of my favorite politicians that stand up for us Veterans...... Well he too will be in my prayers. Odd that he and Mr Posey got the same kind of cancer in the same place isn't it?

I'm not sure of the accuracy, but have heard one in seven men get it.

I PRAY I'm not one.....
