CRISPINS CRITTERS

Everyone knows that I dabble in magic, and I do use that term very loosely. I am an amatures, amature........I like the stuff that David Blaine and Criss Angel do I like to call "Street Magic" I went to Publix the other day for whatever and the young cashier just looked very depressed. As I was checking out I asked her if they sold playing cards she said yes and told me where they were. I said wait one (no one was inline behind me) I ran and got a deck of playing cards and purchased them too........I started to leave and urned around and asked if she ever heard of "Criss Angel" She said "Yes and her face brightened up" I said do you mind if I show you a Criss Angel card trick? Oh No please do.......now another girl showed up.......so I did one of the simplest card tricks out there, but quite effective, had them pick 4 cards, return them to the deck, snap your fingers 4 times, tell them a story and Presto change-o their cards are the only cards in the deck upside down when you display the cards.........its pretty effective............I made her day and her friend.........now everytime I go to Publix, she asks me for another trick, which I can usually pull off a good one now and again..........Magic, its great for breaking the ice, and great for helping someone in a slump and most of all its great giving someone a smile............

TGF you are SUCH a bright spot in this world.

Thought for today - yes I'm lonely -- the consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring. Who, being loved is poor?

OK.

Here's the BEST card trick that I know.

It's a combination of two tricks that I created when I was about 12 years old.

Take any ordinary deck of cards and deal out three for 7 rows.
Left to right.

Set the remaining deck aside for now.
IMG_0118.JPG

Tell them to choose one card, remember it and tell which row it is in, 1, 2 or 3.

Let's say that they chose the King of Spades, in row #2, the 5th one down.

Gather each row, carefully in order,
IMG_0119.JPG
and place the chosen row in the middle, as if a sandwich.

Then deal from the top: one, two, three, left to right until you have 7 rows again.

IMG_0120.JPG

Ask again which row their card is in.

Gather the rows again and place the target row in the center.
Deal one more time.

By now, through mathematics,
the target card has reached #11 from the top of the deck.

IMG_0121.JPG

Have them verify which row and once again, sandwich the row.

Then ask them, "Top or Bottom?"

IMG_0122.JPG

If they choose the top, then you will know that the 10th card is theirs.

If they choose the bottom, it will be the 11th card.

Whichever is chosen, it will return to the deck of remaining cards.

Knowing which card is theirs, lay out this pattern.
Let's say they chose the top.

IMG_0123.JPG

Their card is in the top right group as the bottom right.

Have them choose 2 groupings.

If they choose a group their card is in, leave it on the table and pick up the 2 they didn't choose and vice-versa.

IMG_0124.JPG

Have them choose one of the other groups.
Again, leave their target card group on the table.

All other cards to be added to the remaining deck and shuffled vigorously.
Have them cut....

Then, take the rest of the deck and fan them out like so....

IMG_0126.JPG

In the middle of the deck, carefully place the 5 remaining cards in between alternating deck cards, making sure that their target card is in the center.
Straighten the deck and

IMG_0127.JPG

IMG_0128.JPG

Now, give a little bend to the cards vertically and slowly tap, while loosely yet firmly holding the deck.
Those 5 cards will push up the 4 between them.

IMG_0129.JPG

Ask, "This isn't your choice, is it?"

Repeat process....
IMG_0130.JPG

IMG_0131.JPG

IMG_0132.JPG

IMG_0133.JPG
And so on, for three or four times.....
IMG_0134.JPG

Finally, act like the trick may have failed.

You will develop your own "spiel...."

Then,

IMG_0135.JPG

With a bit of practice, you can amaze Friends, be the life of any party and live to the age of 500 or more like me! :laughing7:

"Yeah, I've been known to play my luck with cards, once or twice,
Sometimes for high stakes,
But there's something not right with your cards....."

I have decided,
Instead of an "all-nighter,"
That on Monday night, I'll try to eat a healthy meal, retire early, wake up about 4 am Tuesday morning and study up until the test!

"Retention, I say retention is the key, Man....
Your time is surely short,
Ole Scotty.....How you gonna play your hand, Son?"

Yes. An Ovation.
You didn't hear the Voice, did you?

I didn't think so.....

If I could just remember all of the damned formulas.....:BangHead:

Please think of me Tuesday morning....

By Tuesday afternoon, my lot shall have been cast.......

So much for me to consider....As I head to my mountains......

Tuesday Afternoon....

My Future thus determined?

I was involved with giving some marketing courses for my company many years ago.....and yes the retention period is very short....better to cram shortly before the exam than earlier on....best of luck!
