Pat cat you are right I found out Harbour freight sells metal detectors and there is one about 10 minutes from my house. I can't go there today. I'm not allowed to leave the house because my Alum Florida Gators are playing the one game that really counts to me today. We are playing Tennessee Volunteers. I can't leave within sound of the tv, it's our Superbowl! Doesn't matter what our record is as long as we beat the Vols!!!!! And we are playing in the Swamp.... So everyone has left the house for now ...(I get loud on this day)... My son will be back later. I am a true Gator I bleed blue and orange! Oh sorry back on track tomorrow I am taking the boys to an indoor rock climbing gym , maybe leave early so we can hit Harbor freight. I'm looking for waterproof , maybe around $200.00 so I can get two of them. Any suggestions? I am a rookie I love my Sand shark do you have any tricks to tweak it before the hunt? Since I'm so new, I will take gold and silver and coins and lay them on the bed and sweep them until I Hear the beeps the best, so I am tweaked and set before I go, anything you folks do better that I can practice to tweak her. Thanks. I have to admit since retirement I've had a bad time, you all make feel welcome and needed. A place I fit when I felt my life was over. God bless you and thank you for showing me through the pain both mental and physical there is still a reason to live, for my family (as hard as that's been) ( as difficult as I have been on them) and through my new friends who have accepted me with passion and without judgement You all have something to offer .......

2 Green, not sure on the harbor freight if the search coils are waterproof as most detectors,s are. A good question to ask at store.
Control boxes will not be at that kind of cost. A heavy plastic bag and 90 m.p.h. tape should save it from a whoops quick dip.Check bed first for metal before coin test. You likely have before though.
Have a lousy day when it happens, just proof life is not fair, savor the good ones and join the others who get up and onward through the haze.
Besides it ain no bag for a big stepper like your self!

GIB, tell me about your boat.........momma wont let me have one. I'm a Divemaster, love the water but she says NO, its only a hole in the water for money... I said what the heck is a house? we are always putting money in the house......she didnt understand my humor. I want a 19 - 21 foot center console with a T-Top. Now my dad he has a boat. 30 foor Proline, twin 225's mercs, sleeps 6 has a tuna tower, generator, a/c you name it.........personally I really want a 41 - 44 foot Center cockpit Ketch. Theres something appealing to me about raising those sails, turning off the engines, then listening to the wind over the sails, the water lapping against the hull..........dad calls me a ":rag sailer" hahahaha I guess I was born 200 years too late............so tell me about your boat. Mine is just a dream! hahahahahaa

you may need to adjust the sensitivity if you will be on the beach. If a girlie is laying on her stomach the belly rings sound different. On their backs you may not even need the detector..

just got here and you take off, I could get a complex!! Will try and find a market foe shells and coral up here, many atrisans are moving into the area, no promises, but will try. By the way, you aren't far from my Bro-in-laws on SW106 th in copper city, and sounds like you might be right up off Flamingo, we go to Sawgrass quite a bit. Gary

According to the user manuals either can get a wet coil, also neither can get a wet control box with out damage. Fine by me after telling a youngster not to wade deeper than their ankles (standing upright,yes you need to tell them) for my peace of mind and after telling them not to drop it in the water, (yes,must tell them). the cheaper boasts three tones. While reluctant to suggest how to outfit the young uns this case looks to be a $ call as either should suffice for starters.The cheapest looks familiar, perhaps a micronta or similar around here some where.
