The summer season residents here at Long Point are rapidly closing up and heading back to the city, and the woods and water's are once again ours. Getting ready to head out to the marsh and do some exploring, but first I have to post tonight's dinner menu, I PM'd Crispin last night, and told him that he had a celebratory dinner in the works, and here goes.......
In his honor there will be copious amounts of his favorite brew on ice, and we will add pitchers of white and red wine coolers for those who want....
A huge tossed salad of garden fresh, tomatos, cucumber carrot, onion, radish, lettuce,( I like Romaine), and cut up cheese, and hard genoa salami. This will be dressed with an oil, and vinegar, and fresh herb mix.
The main course is a mix of sweet, and hot Italian sausage, cooked in olive oil with peppers and onions. Simply saute' the sausage, until 1/2 done, add sliced onion and green and red
pepper, 2-3 clove crushed, diced garlic, red pepper flakes to taste, and a can of diced tomatos. Simmer until the sauage is done and the vegetables cooked.....serve over thin spaghetti and enjoy.
On a cool and windy day as today, this will fill the body and soul......be back later after a walk in the weeds......Gary
