Yep, and now this explains why I don't like ANY of my neighbors. (not since I was 32 years old anyway)

Reminds me of a story when I'd have to go to the grocery store and a "short-cut"
was through some old guy's back yard.

I'd heard stories of him...
A war Vet who loved to shoot at kids cuttin' through...
Or, if you cut through at night, he'll snatch ya up and make a stew.

This is when I was 19-20 years old.


So, what does Scott do?



"Oh, no....not Scott!"

Scott knocks on the man's front door and asks if he might help in
the care of his yard.

A Friendship arose and Mr. Petersen allowed me to lay a brick walkway,
install a gate, with a hand-painted sign, saying, "Please Close Gate," and
soon Mr. Petersen was the "coolest old guy" in the neighborhood!

FIND ways to volunteer for projects that you believe in.
Help a neighbor with yard work,
ask how you can help and love on some critters at the shelter,
and,
Treat strangers as Friends.

That "stranger" might be me....

I was married to my first wife and living in my VA purchased house.

She, (Cindy)
had an "appointment" and was taking a bath in the tub.

For some reason, I don't recall, drastic action was necessary.

I kicked open the door to the bathroom, with a coil of orange extension cord hanging from my shoulder.
I dangled the plug end of the cord inches above the surface of her bathwater.

I immediately got her attention.



Later, she got me back.

But, that's "another" story....

What a symbiotic relationship....
