Being a pretty private person, I don't usually say much about what is going on for me.
These last two weeks have been more than difficult and RC your earlier post tapped into it all..
Two weeks ago my beloved young male cat, got up in the morning as usual and within 5min was paralyzed from the waist down.
I knew it was an aneurysm as a result of undiagnosed cardiomyopathy. .When this happens it is very painful with no real cure. .I rushed him to emergency vet and by that time he could hardly breathe. ..only thing was to euthanize. ..I am so very sad about this..so very tragic with no warning!
On top of that I spent the afternoon at Stanford Hospital yesterday while my husband underwent some tests which won't be completed until the end of July...
Having experienced much early childhood loss, these thing affect me profoundly. ..thus my thanks again RC for your thoughtful post...
My best to all,
Barb

hmmm. hang in there Squig.!
You may be a little like Doc from my youth. (sorry, story time.)
Doc was a very senior farm wife, petite too,and any time any creature was ill or a little off, it was someone get Doc.!
But her most important skill to us workers lay in her ability to relate with and handle any animal. Most important when Barny, the monster bull decided he was going to hunt some farm laborers! After all us runners showing him a clean pair of heels a potential victim would be sent to get Doc.who would gently scold Barny, wrangle him back to where he could be secured and then call for one of us cowards to repair his previous escape route.
Take care of yourself Squig.,your ol man and critters need a Doc. for a while!.

Lol! Pretty cute story RC..I am trying!! :)

Hey Squig,

I understand the loss of a pet. It can be very difficult. Hang in there. I know you tell people this every day but it will not hurt to here it from me, "Just take it one day at a time." Sometimes, that is all we can do. You will be in Eva's and I's thoughts and prays.

Tonight's repast is going out to our comrade Sqiggy, and is hopefully designed to give nurisment, and comfort.

With tonight's meal, a robust red wine of your choice.

We'll start the evening with a salad of mixed spring greens, slices of red onion, halved grape tomatos, and dressed with a olive oil and red wine vinegar, and Italian herbs.

Tonight we will also have a Lobster Quiche:
1/2 lb. cooked lobster meat
1 1/2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
2/3 cup sliced green onion
1/4 cup margarine, or butter, melted
4 eggs, well beaten
1 1/2 cups half and half cream
1 tbsp. salt
1/3 tsp. dry mustard
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 unbaked 9 in. pie shells

Chop lobster meat,( can be fresh or frozen). Cook mushrooms and green onions in margarine until tender. Combine eggs, cream, salt, and dry mustard, beat until smooth.Layer half of the lobster, half of the mozz. cheese, and half of the mushroom mixture in each pie dish. Pour half the egg mixture into each pie shell.

Bake in hot oven 425 degrees for 15 mins., reduce heat to 300 degrees, continue to bake for 30 mins. more, or until a inserted knife comes out clean. Let stand 15 mins.

Hope the menu tonight brings you good thoughts, and satisfies the hunger in your body and your mind. See you all later.............Gary
