CRISPINS CRITTERS

Okay, I can't remember the band and I don't know the song title, but these lines somehow burned into my mind about 18years ago..."Tears of the feeble, hands of the slaves, skin of the mothers, mouths of the babes. Building the tower, that belongs to the sky, when the whole thing comes crashing down don't ask me why." I will be super impressed if you can find that.

Speaking of books...

Best,

Scott

PS.

I have books from my childhood..."Little Golden Books," etc.
I've never thrown away a book; I try to find someone who is glad to have a book.

I was just thinking today about contacting the county jail to donate some books
and offer to help illiterate inmates learn to read.

So much that one can accomplish with the ability to read and learn.
I know from experience.

When I was a child, about 3-4 years old, I would climb into my Mother's lap as she
read the newspaper and she would point to small words like "the," "and," etc. and I would say the words.
With my Mom's Love and help, I was reading on a third grade level when I entered kindergarten.

When I was in the third grade, the school system had some extra "tests" that were administered to the fifth and sixth graders that they wanted to give to younger students. My name was mentioned and I scored in the top 10% of the fifth and sixth graders.
The school contacted my Mother about advancing me a grade and my Mom said, "Let the boy alone. He'll learn as he is willing to."

I was still placed in an "advanced learning curriculum," but by then, I became rebellious and, well, I wish that at the time I would have applied myself.
Now, I'm over 50 and have finally decided to "apply myself."

I always thought I may be a Teacher, but, maybe I still can teach.

I Love and miss my Mom....

Teach some one struggling to learn to read they seldom forget you did. then too you,ll remember also.Ran into some one many years later that brought it up right away.
Was it Mexico? had a law or rule, each one teach one. i think annually.

A more "mainstream" Soundgarden song....

Best,

Scott

Many is the morning that I wake, fire up the stereo and carefully place the
Pickering stylus upon this vintage vinyl spinning at 33 1/3 rpm.....to start my day.

For those who remember what vinyl was meant to be.

Hope your day is the best that it can be!

My Best,
