About an hour after I got to work, the Vet Rep from the Dept. of Labor called....
I thought that it might be about the Veteran Job Fair that I had mentioned.
Instead....
He asked if I would be interested in mentoring another Vet along with the one I currently mentor.
I said, "Absolutely!"
He gave me the Vet's name and phone number and said,
"I've gotten good comments from Jxxx of your help and know that you can help Dxxx, also."
I asked about the Job Fair and he said that the Dept of Labor will be having their own Job Fair soon.
I said that I'm sure that the HR Director would be interested in sending representatives.
So, I guess things
ARE going forward!
Best Wishes,
Scott
Genuflection:
As a Veteran, I respect the chain of command.
That being said, I have determined that I can accomplish more for my Veteran Brothers and Sisters by "standing down,"
somewhat in my efforts, and utilize the civilian chain of command.
That is why I have reached out to the HR Director instead of the President of the Company....
Although I have determined to proceed in my efforts in a less aggressive manner,
Know that my passion has NOT diminished.
I will always be the one that my fellow Vet can call upon when needed.
I will always be there to share my last meal.
I will always be there to help you carry your load.
I will always be there....
Because, as a Vet, I will give you my all.
Learned today that a Fellow Vet, an advocate of Hall County Georgia Veteran's Court,
Made himself known to others whom have passed...
He will be missed by those who knew him.

He now flies beyond earthly bounds....
Flying without wings....
Tristan's Uncle, also involved in Veteran's Court, was collecting funds for the Memorial flowers.
I gave generously....
