Just after my last post late Thursday night, my computer crashed.
From all indications, it is the mother board.
I have the worst luck with computers....
Anywho,
Landlord gave me a ride to Monroe, GA, about an hour south down the road in his Porsche to look at the truck.
I took it for a spin, looked under the hood, checked the oil dipstick for signs of sawdust or metal particles, checked the wear on the clutch pedal to make sure that it matched the mileage, checked the preset radio stations for indications of the music listened to and generally checked out things that most people fail to realize are indicators of the vehicle's life to this point in time.
The guy said that it was his Great Uncle's truck and he bought another truck and wanted to sell this one. Had it listed for $5000.
The radio stations were on Country, the clutch pedal matched the mileage, no sawdust or metal particles, nice tight clutch, smooth shifting, good rubber and super clean.
I pulled out 43 $100 bills and said, "Take $4300?"
He got on the phone to his Great Uncle and then said, "$4400 is the rock bottom."
Friends, I had $5000 on me, but not all in one pocket.
So I pulled out my wallet where I had about $107 in small bills. I counted out $100 and we signed the Title and bill of sale.
THE TRUCK IS MINE!!!
So, my Landlord and I drove back to Gainesville and he had me give him a ride to Cumming, GA, about an hour west, to pick up one of his trucks.
Before we left Gainesville to get his truck, I bought our lunch at a BBQ place called, "Moonies."
He said that would do instead of the steak house.

On the way back home, I stopped at Wally World and bought a new computer.
Think I'm done spending money for awhile....
Well, maybe not....
Still have to do the insurance and tag transfer, title registration and taxes....Sheesh...
Hope all are well.
Best,
Scott
