CRISPINS CRITTERS

I must apologize for previous language that I used.
Not that I feel that way, but the language I used.

Hope that no one was TOO offended....

What? When you wrote Southern ? Meh ,we're already over that.:occasion14:

Had a chance to look at a potential trade and cash for a decent bear protection weapon....

A Taurus .45 wheel.

5 shot.

Sweet!

The gun show is this weekend.

Will I be able to do some iron swappin'?

Best,

PS.
Taurus also makes a model called "The Judge."
Fires .410 shotgun rounds OR .45.
Cost? Between $400- $500.

Not sure what you are protecting the bears from ...but a .45 would dissuade a majority of critters.
Gun shows around here tend to run overpriced with a usual group of vendors.
Popular stuff bringing a premium of course.
A .44 mag in a wheelgun should digest hardcast oldish style .44 for reduced loads. A hand reloading outfit though could utilize with accurate study and marking of rounds ,more economical loads too. Volume of fire to amortise cost , or other reasons to be able to load a few hundred rounds can influence caliber choices that fall in the range of desired use.
.44 Mag pushed me around too much ,so went to .357.
Still able to run .38' s for plinking .
Fodder price /availability and calibers intended use all factor though.

.45 longcolt ,.45 acp, 44 special, .44 mag ..
Gets dizzying ,but for two legged critters a45 acp ,and four legged a .44 mag is an old but not the final answer rule.
Due to saami specs ,.45 long colts off the shelf makes a .44 mag more appealing ...
Lots of options.
Moon clips required for the .45 you're eyeballin , a like em , or don't trust em deal.

And, yes,
I see what you did.

Here's a link to my favorite news aggregate website.

If you like tongue in cheek, irony, crassness (sometimes....)

Well,

I ENCOURAGE YOU TO GIVE IT A "LOOKIE-SEE!"

Just talked with my Friend in Lawrence, Kansas tonight.
I've known him for 32 years....

We are both known in my Hometown for our skills; I once provided the reference for him to get a Job building organs.
The company 'hierarchy" was "tight," meaning that most employees died of old age before they retired.....A very hard job to land for any woodsmith....
When it might become available....

In the 10 some years that I was last home,
Building, construction and remodeling is booming!

I'm certain that I could find gainful employment....
But!

The snow.
The ice.
The cold!

How 'bout catfishin' on the river any fine fall evening?
Or having already attended KU and know my way around?
Or a Friend who will help me transition?

It's now narrowed down to 3, my Friends.

University of Colorado in Boulder or Kansas University in Lawrence.

#3?

Hang around here and hope for a miracle!

Hope All have a Great Week!

Best,

Scott

Hmmm....

Colorado....:icon_scratch:

Well,

The sushi rice,
that I prepared when I got home is ready to "roll."

What shall it include?

I got my favorites happening!

Best,

Scott

No, Scott.
Don't go there...

Band Name:

"Catfish Sushi."

Told ya not to go there....

Crap!

Looks like the Mother Board on my computer is toast.

The age of that PC warrants a new computer.

Sheesh!

Could affect my shopping at the gun show this weekend.

Looks like I need to sell some more coins and currency....

If anyone is looking for anything along these lines, please send me a PM.

Best prices for Fellow Critters!

Scott

Just talked with my Landlord and he can fix me up for about 4 Franklins on my computer issue.

Gave him 3 and my promise of the rest soon, and he's on it! :notworthy:

I'm still gonna go to the gun show this Sunday with
THE BEST LANDLORD EVAH!

Sure that you wouldn't rather have an M16 with grenade launcher? :laughing7:

About M60's---

Be sure that you have two barrels on hand to change out when they get RED HOT!
While you're at it, best to have a couple of ammo bearers at your heels, too....

I loved hip firing M60's, but that sucker sure does want to climb on you, don't it?

Ah! And then policing for brass and clips...
Thanks for the "way-back" memory! :occasion14:

Be Well my Friend,

Best,

Scott

Afterthought:

Perhaps "full auto" is available---to those who possess the "proper paperwork...." :dontknow:
Believe it or not, I have NEVER been to a gun show. :walk:
I'll take my camera! :icon_thumright:

Today my locksmith Friend and I did some work for the local Army Reserve complex.

We replaced a lever handle keyed entry for the motor pool and repaired the main entrance door locking mechanism.

The whole time, we were accompanied by a young E5 with an M16 slung over his shoulder.
15 round clip? 8-) What do you consider a "Banana Clip?"
Anyhow, Friends, the way that it was slung over his shoulder was incorrect.

I notice such things.
I quietly mentioned it to my Friend and he could see it then....

I also noticed that the Flag, the banner of my Country, my Loyalty and my Service, was frayed.
The top red stripe.
At the top of a 40 foot pole.

Of course, I mentioned this to the "escort" that tailed us.
Soon, I found myself engaged in "Private Conversation" with the regional Commander concerning my Service and his....

Long story short.....
I think that we might get a Govt. contract to provide service to all of the area Reserve centers and more!

Hope all have a QUICK Friday and a Leisure Weekend!

Best Wishes,

Scott

Tomorrow,

I will do some work at the animal shelter....

Replace 2-3 faulty leversets and the closer on the main Front door.

Perhaps I can find supplies to take from around the house....

And, Certainly, I'll say "Hi" to my Friend, Julie!

What a Fantastic end of the week!!

Always,

OK.

Here's a bit more "in depth" of the Animal Shelter job.....

I was called out earlier in the week for some issues and it turned out to be more than anticipated....

Being a "Professional," I had to meet with the contact, Bob.

After assessing the needs and repairing what I could,

I met with Bob to discuss my findings.

I met Bob in the break room as it was lunchtime.

Bob had a parrot on his shoulder and Bob was hand feeding him lunch as business was discussed.

COOL!

Most days I feel like I have the best job in the world!

Best,

Scott

Current tracking on the delivery of my new computer indicates that it is scheduled for delivery TODAY! :headbang:

Hopefully my next post will be on my new rig! :hello:

Hope all are kicked back and enjoying their weekend!

Scott : Ie. Well oiled.
30 below windchill (F) makes adhesive out of oil. Makes semi auto's fail to feed and fail to fire unless completely degreased.
Warmer temps still will ,but I learned firsthand ,fortunately at my leisure with multiple action types that come winter firing pins get cleaned and hammers/bolts too.
No oil again till above freezing ,only if wetted or condensation from bringing one into a heated area warrants re cleaning.
Watched someone hammer on an auto's bolt with a flashlight one winter trying to break the ice bind....ouch.
A standard.22 loses ummph in deep cold too.
Stuff you probably learned in Europe when teeth were chattering.

Best "all around" lubricant that I've ever used!

http://www.triflowlubricants.com/

I use it exclusively in locksmithing, around the house and it even works with wood!
I've used it to provide ease of wooden casement window openings!

"Got a sliding patio door that is hard to slide?"

Yep!

"Just a squirt or a spray
And all troubles soon go away!"

Ahem.....

Temperature seems to have no effect on the properties of this product.

WD-40 is what you should use on rust. Only!
The benefits of WD-40 have been greatly exaggerated....

Best,

Scott

And, Yes.

My teeth have chattered in a bunker in Germany during the winter.

Are you sure that you weren't there, too?
