That has to be the next step find out the metal composition
2.97 oz. of copper thats a lot of copper to refine when
thinking your item looks crude cast, maybe sand cast
def not mold cast, or there would be more LOL
that much copper could have made a good copper
tool and or points. to me it says special purpose or art

wonder if there is a university close that has a metal spectrum thing machine

anyone buy this?

Ummm , I dunno.
I'd be grateful for her time and attention to the subject.
Context makes it tuff...
Had the site been undisturbed for many centuries we'd be more confident it was a native article.
Frustrating to not know what it is ..but at the same time ,mystery is part of the fun with relics.

If I had to seek more input it would probably be with "general"( if that's acceptable a term )museum curators and native artifact specialists both.
I would if wanting it to remain in my possession of course keep it so.

It is cool to stump them but it's going to feel great when it gets identified. I'm just gonna ride it out and see if someone I already contacted hits me up. Since I'm getting replys from two months ago I could happen.

Is it conceivable that it could be something along these lines?
