Very historic discovery!! First I have seen and well worth the banner.

I thought I seen a reference to a rarity 10, but not positive. But 8 vs. 9 is the same difference, if there's only 1 why one number over the other.
Good question. Always confused me a little too. By the way, I hate the URS rating scale. Maybe because I find it slightly more confusing than the other. Or maybe because I find it hard to accept change!:tongue3::BangHead::laughing9:

Started reading and almost forgot why I came to this post......CONGRATS JD on a great find and The Banner! I think this is a good "Best Finds" candidate for 2013.

Well deserved. We'll probably see that one in a book some day. (unless I dig a better example.... and Cru says it's going to happen) :happysmiley:

Your nearly right, it will be...........

Congratulations on an only one known. I am glad that IP bumped it back up so it got the attention and recognition is deserved. It looks nice in the Banner Bar.

Really a wonderful button especially interesting was the description of the detail and the significance of it all! Thank you for posting and Much Success back at the site!.................63bkpkr

WOW!!!! Go away for a little while and look what happens😊BANNER..real nice. Thanks for all the votes. Gotta say i still been walkin by the button amd picking it up just to look😊😊

When i found the button I really didnt give it much thought. Darby and I were eager to move on to a couple of new spots. Never can tell.......amazing:):):):)

Congratulations on the find and for making banner! I learned a lot just from reading the posts about it. Great job!

Congrats on the great snake button and the banner recognition.

A :icon_thumright: to you IP for keeping this one in the light.

Congratulations on finding the 1st one known Rattlesnake button and having it make the Banner!!!:icon_thumleft:

Being that I live in S.C., maybe I might get lucky and join you with finding another!!

Thank you for saving and recoding history:thumbsup: Great banner!

I need to clear something up apparently. My "mate" didnt find this. He was with me though. It would have been easy to pass this one over had i not decided to clean some of my button finds. As far as banner goes i dont really care just wanted some info

That's why one should ALWAYS clean up all button finds. Some valuable buttons look like normal flat buttons except for the backmark (Jackson Victory buttons, etc.).

This is one KILLER find! Glad it made it up top!

Cheers,

Buck

I just like us all to use similar terminology, it just seems more professional, when I got my 1 of a kind coin recorded. I avoided the word unique & used the first 1 recorded or 1st one 'known'. I know its spitting hairs but it does make a difference. Because to think that only 1 of these was ever made is untrue & its highly likely that others are in collections. Only those interested in making money will avoid recording other examples which means the context (& the true picture) of the type gets lost. So we should encourage open recording, like Don does, because I can bet one of his first questions is where did you find it? He wouldn't be an expert with people hiding the facts.

I think Iron Patch would like to call it a "highly unique one?" ;)
