Colonial button

Found this button over the weekend in a field a buddy and i have been detecting. When i got home and cleaned it up a little this is what it looked like:
Has a snake around center with tail in its mouth and 13 stars around edge.
Any help with id and value would be appreciated

Those look like pretty early buttons for Tennessee. You must be hunting a pretty old site for that state.

I have always been fascinated by Rattlesnake buttons. I'm sure you have a very good one there

With this post about to fall off the page (until I bump it back), it's starting to seem like many people on this forum either need a big flashy subject line, a long post with a hundred bouncing smileys, or a picture of a find that's nice and shiny, to think it's good! Also, part of the problem is a find like this should be on the banner to be made easy to find. Even the most common GW gets so many in a frenzy, but this button that's UNIQUE is fading away like most of the common junk most people post waiting to find something like this!

Very nice buttons! I need to go and look at my buttons I have found with stars on them. I may have one or two of those. I never realized the edge of the button was a rattlesnake.

I know what you mean but its not the only one, just the only one Known. Think how many would pass this one by & chuck it in the junk button box? Like you say further down, its being passed over on Tnet of all places, ie. where it should get the most appreciation.

yes being I am not gaga over I.D.'ing my buttons, but do keep them,
I wouldn't be surprised to find out in the last 40 years That I
dug one, but because of condition, just filed it away as Button

I'm missing where he says it is not his ?
