Bucket List

I am usually a landowner advocate but this is a peculiar situation where the property owner is not the cache owner.

There must be some reason for you to want the gf's daughter to get something so that is fine. But if Player wanted the gf or daughter to get something, why wouldn't he will it to them or at least let them know where it is?

So not knowing the relationship between Player and gf, it is hard to advise. Seems to me that it is open season on the cache. Since it is buried so shallow and you know the location, maybe a two man stake out with one man on a probe would give you an idea if it is still there. You would surely hear the probe hitting hollow PVC.

With so many partners on your end, it seems out of whack to give 1/2 to the landowner for something that isn't hers (different from Frankn's deal where the cache was legally owned by property owner).

While I wouldn't want someone to trespass on my property, if they did so without disturbing anything a landowner wouldn't have any cause of action. No harm, no foul rule.

If someone trespassed on my property they may end up getting a new rectum. My six 200 lb Mastiffs would take care of them. If I saw someone digging without my permission they would be looking down the barrel of a twelve gauge shotgun. I would then call 911 so that the medics and cops could both arrive to take care of the aftermath. Does this give you an idea of what I think of trespassing thieves? T-Net rules also discourage this kind of activity and your not supposed to give out advice to do illegal things. That all being said I will tell you how I would go about it.

Contact the legal landowner as they also own any treasure buried on their property no matter how it got there. If it were stolen loot from a recent robbery the cops would want to get it back to the lawful owner. If the person that buried it is dead it now belongs to the property owner. Offer to dig it up for them and to split it 50/50 with them no matter how many partners you may have. Send the registered property owner a nice letter of introduction and go forward from there. I myself would have NO INTEREST in doing it in a illegal way. Good luck on this.

Let me know where your property is so I don't get kill by your dogs or by you.

BDD

Well its a good thing that its not buried on your property. That is unless someone needs a new rectum.

However, you are incorrect on the ownership issue. Believe it or not, the coins are not the landowner's property. The man just hid his personal property on this lady's land and happened to pass away. In theory, title passes to HIS heirs. Absent any heirs, title passes to the state if none come forward after a period of time (depending on the State).

Maybe approach the landowner and give her a fee to allow you access to recover some property left on her land. :dontknow:

My opinion is no different from those wanting you to core a hole under the bridge.

His place is also covered up with snakes.

After an amount of time,it does become the landowners property. There are several different laws that cover and can encomber this issue. It is not so cut and dry.

Vor, The daughter (whom I assume lives there now) was estranged from her mother. So the player never
met her and would not have had a reason to bequeath her anything, especially since he was married to
another. Whether his wife lives I do not know. It would take a super sleuth to cross all the Ts in this affair.

Dog, you had no cause to get your hackles up when I mentioned a recovery. No attempt has been made
as yet so it is all conjecture at this point. From now on I will consider vor counsel for the defense.

ECS I am not aware of this states position but I know it would be more lenient than Florida.

You are wrong my friend. Art Works that was stolen during World War Two in Russia and Germany still belongs to the owners. I had saw many law suits pertaining to this subjectt.

My dogs have not created any new rectums that I know of and I have not had to point a shotgun at anybody, so I guess you could say that what could happen is all conjecture on my part. I stated this not because my hackles are up but just as a warning to anyone planning on trespassing and/or stealing from another person that there may be dire consequences as you may not know how someone or their dogs may react to strangers on their property. Hey maybe you could tunnel underground or some other method where you think it is okay to take what is not yours. Go for it! What have you got to lose (other than your life)?

Dog, no dogs, just hummingbirds. At night porcupines, coyotes and hoot owls. I heard an owl scream
like a woman, or was that a panther.

John, you need to overcome your fear of snakes. Some of them are loveable and cute. Try going to
a petting zoo that has reptiles. You might even grow fond of them and join the Adopt-A- Snake Plan.

Lastleg
Maybe that was a former girlfriend that was screaming.

My dogs have not created any new rectums..... but just as a warning to anyone planning on trespassing and/or stealing from another person .......

I don't think that recovering a stash in the ground left by a dead guy with no heirs can be considered "stealing". And wondering off track into a side yard can be classified as "lost" so long as no harm is done.

In my book going on to someone's property without permission and taking/recovering something that does not belong to you is STEALING. But hey in today's world anything goes. Theft is glamorized in the movies. Like I said, GO FOR IT! If you get caught you could just be honest and claim stupidity.

pot calling the kettle black?

In my book going on to someone's property without permission....

Actually, in your book (published last year) you list quite a few trespassing adventures in your search for gold, silver and diamonds. Do you remember the guy that:

As a kid would go to the old house across from the cemetery and abscond with the "cool old ceramic jugs"?

Crawled under the house on Anna Maria Island at night looking for Nazi diamonds?

Went to Montauk lighthouse at night with pick and shovel to attempt to find the 88mm shells full of diamonds?

Attempted a gold recovery in Warner's Bayou?

Searched a property for gold in Cherokee, Georgia?

Had the wife wait in the car as you crawled around under the Rye Bridge looking for a pot of gold?

Destroyed a beaver dam and dug a hole looking for saddlebags of gold in Georgia and absconding with a wagon wheel rim?

Dug a hole looking for a gold horse on unknown property?

Dug a 7' hole looking for a pirate chest near the Cape Fear River?

Did the night dig in Desoto Park?

I am sure that you can list many more adventures at locations that you didn't obtain permission to be. In fact, you even broke into the house owned by an old guy in New York before you eventually bought it.

While I have no problems with what you did in the past (and you did mention that you filled your holes), you can't just label your acts as an "adventure" to get around the trespass issue.

And you should have just cored a hole under the bridge to check for the silver. Guess its not too late. 8-)

Uh-Oh, Dog thinks what's OK for him and Ovid is not OK for others. There is a name for that attitude
but I shouldn't say it on here. Those poor German submariners didn't put those diamonds there for
you to pilfer with. Just think of all the corpses it took to get a canister full. It takes a special breed to
chase blood money.

OK vor you got me. I am not proud of some of the things I may have done in the past. Most of what you listed happened over 20-25 years ago. As far as the accuracy of your book report I will give you a passing grade. I did not break into anybody's house. The house was in Florida, I had permission to be inside, and I did buy the house.

I am now older and hopefully wiser. I have tried to mend my ways. I admit that the way I went about things in the distant past is not the way I want to do things now. I am lucky to be alive and in one piece. lastleg and vor, do things any way you want to. Trespassing is trespassing and stealing is stealing. When I was over 1000 miles from home and had limited time I had a tendency to push the limits. I now seek permission when it comes to treasure hunting. In the long run it is the best way.

vor-You are so concerned that nobody knows your real identity but you have no trouble listing my name on here, why is that?

It was you who posted your name, your book, your mytreasurestory.com website and newspaper articles. All of these have your name in it. I believe that notoriety/fame is part of what you are searching for in life. That is your prerogative.

I prefer to keep my real life info private. My prerogative.

Now that we have established that you bear sins from your past, as we all do, lets see some digging.

V

BTW you are incorrect on who is the owner of the cache. But that is a touchy subject in the TH community as a lot of what we seek may have ownership issues if we ever looked into the origins.

Edit: BDD, I went back and removed your name. Guess readers will have to look for it in your old posts or get it from the papers. Don't know what you're going to do when your reality show comes out.
