I was wondering, since there are some great minds here, and it seems some people really studied a lot about Atlantis, what you all think would be found if Atlantis is discovered. I thought it might be interesting to see a list complied by all of you that listed like: what kind of markings, what kind of carvings like beings, creatures, what language markings may be found.... What possibly might the names or depictions that indicate it is likely Atlantis, weapons, etc.... I think seeing all of the ideas listed on one list would be extremely interesting.
Well, Ancient Egypt had a half-man, half-fish god... can't remember his name...So amigos besides hot coffee, what do you expect to see in Atlantis when it is found? (As per the original question, what kind of markings, what kind of carvings like beings, creatures, what language markings may be found.... I expect that religious symbols will be related to a sea god (which the Greeks identified as Poseidon, but probably was not called that by Atlantians) and no "bull worship" as some have interpreted the sacred bulls that were hunted and sacrificed to the Atlantian gods and goddesses. The bulls were probably important features, hence their being considered "sacred" (cattle herding is one of the earliest types of agriculture practiced by man - evidence of cattle herding in a grassy wet Sahara dating to the time of Atlantis certainly supports this) but we are told the bulls were being sacrificed to the Atlantian gods, not that the bulls themselves were gods. Diodorus has some explanation of the Atlantian religion.
What about something even more mysterious, like a half-fish man-god, similar to Dagon of the Phoenicians or the Ea of the Sumerians, Nommo to the Dogon people of Africa? These strange beings came from the sea to teach man the arts of civilization, and returned to the sea - could this not be linked by the Greeks to mean Poseidon? After all, some depictions of Poseidon do show him as half fish.

I look forward to reading your thoughts on what we should expect to see in Atlantis - and including whether you expect to see the giant canals (in rings) the gold and orichalcum plated walls and buildings etc. Thank you in advance;

Oro, you posted -------- if/when it is found.
Oro, ? I have given you very clear directions to it and explained why and how it subsided in a day or so, and it's present status.
Well it seemed correct at the time sniff. I Need coffee.
Joe,I didn't say anything about native americans using this symbol,I said it can be found in petroglyphs around the world and in the s.w.,besides,native americans were not the only peoplein the world or the s.w.to create petroglyphs,or rock writings ,but I suspect you already know this. maybe you can enlighten us on what native americans used these symbols,or not,NPNP,
Can you tell us which Native American tribes used the trident symbol and what it meant?
Thank you,
Joe
Oro Amigo, I don't really know,but even if I did they would be in storage,but there should be some on the net.thanks.npI believe it is supposed to be a stylized trident, of course that is a cartoonish image just wanted to emphasize that this idea of a half-fish, half man god is rather widespread, not limited to only Atlantis. The trident (and Poseidon for that matter) were considered to be the symbol of the powerful Greek city-state of Syracusa, as it is prominently shown on their coins:
