You are right about 1 thing though. If the Reps bow to the BO and Dems (for a favorable public opinion) and delay the wreck for a year it will not only be a law,, there will be no, or very few insurance companies left in 2015. The Reps will run another progressive candidate like Christie and you can have Kankle care or Christie care. And then you and yours will have to ride in and save the day with single payer. Nice trick.

It's not about the left. it's about this country acting as one for the betterment of all.

TH, how do you like living in Florida? I was born there, i have a place in Lee County. i love Florida. And that's a good thing. Because as a resident of NJ more of my federal tax dollars support Floridians than they do New Jerseyians. All that economic support coming from me and other residents of donor states helps you keep your taxes low. Much lower than they would be without our help. My money being spent by you( Floridians) for issues of your choosing not mine.

So while your taxes are lower than they should be because you're getting back about 1.39 cents of every tax dollar you send to Washington, my taxes are the second highest in the country because i've got to make up fro the fact that we don't get a free ride. We get back only .77 cents for every dollar we send to Washington. We get only 55% of what you get! WE Libs up here in jersey, not only have to carry our load, but your load too! And while it is anything but fair, you don't hear us whining about it!

Truthfully we are thankful we are not getting all the government we are paying for.

TH, those getting an easier ride by living in recipient states complaining about finally having to share the load equally - how do you think that plays with those of us bearing more than our fair share of the load?

NF, I am willing to bet my Florida roots are as deep as yours if not much deeper. I was born in Fl as was my mother, grand parents, great grand parents, great great grand parents and great, great, great grand father. So just how deep are your Fl roots?

You do not support me/us, Fl draws $1.39 for every federal dollar paid BUT that includes SS and FL is full of northern retires who moved here drawing their SS.

The biggest awards Florida received in federal aid comes due to Homeland Security, the umbrella organization for everything from FEMA to port and airport security. HS is a private army we do not need it and have never needed it.

Our last terrorist attack on US soil was 911 by 9 terrorists and nothing HS has would have stopped them. The primary purpose of HS is to be used against the American people.

You can take that fed money paid for Homeland security here and keep it there in NJ since you guys don't want the right to defend yourselves, we do not want nor need it here.

TH we can have a pissing contest about who is more of a native Floridian if you like, but then again it won't get us anywhere.

The money coming back to FL is fed dollars to the state, not to individuals or federal departments with operations in Florida. Because you get so much help, the tax burden on the state and local level is reduced. Contrary to mine which is increased. The effect on a personal level is you pay less in taxes than you would without the subsidy.

Basically, like it or not, you are being subsidized by the federal government. We in the donor states are carrying you. I realize this doesn't sit well with you, but it is fact. If we in NJ want to fix a bridge or build a school we have to pay for it with our own money. That increases our taxes. OTOH, if you need to fix a bridge or build a school, you too are using our money. Because you are using our money to help pay for these things your taxes are lower.

Maybe it's just me but that sounds like socialism. Yet no rant from the right? Why? Because most red states are recipient states. Takers not givers! They know a good thing when they see it. And having someone else pick up the tab is a good thing!! Yet when they are asked to pony up, they scream the loudest!!! Go figure!

Native you started the contest not I with your Fl comment on how I like living here stating you were born here.

Money paid to states " includes all federal outlays consisting of retirement, disability, and other direct payments; grants; procurement; and salaries and wages. Spending does not include interest on the debt and other spending not allocated by state."

Stop the funding of Homeland Security and Florida could be on the other side of the line and the ederal funding includes funds paid to retiree programs.

LOL! Dave why do you waste your time with this? it doesn't matter what people think today. The law will remain the law and you can bet by this time in 2015 the health care law will be one smoothly operating machine. Accept it !

BTW, since you are opposed to socialism of any kind, you do live in a donor state, right? obviously, you would never accept a free ride, correct?

So, what state do you live in? oh that's right, VA. The state that lost the tea party race! At least you are a donor state, barely!

Boy, they did take a Woppin'!

A very bummed Ken Cuccinelli ...............

It is true! Cuccinelli lost by 3 %. The "libertarian" candidate funded by the friends of the Administration won 6.5%. The Unions donated as much to The bad guy as the republicans did to Cuccnelli.

The Democrats outspent him in HUGE amounts of cash. Lies after lies, but if you have the money to fund the lies and the other side doesn't, how does it turn out?

And Ken was SUPPOSED to LOSE in a landslide by all of the experts opinions!

So it was a huge defeat,, if that is the way you read the talking points.

Well, he's toast.

Well, Something to celebrate for you then, Bum.

Whatever, the Government has officially destroyed the rails...the largest passenger train in history is coming at full speed. Good luck and best wishes.

You and TH keep hitting on the fact that Cuccinelli lost by only 3%. Isn't that like losing the Super Bowl by one point? Yup, exactly the same. One winner, one loser! And, your guy was the loser!

You miss the point that the probability of a republican losing the Va's governor's race is akin to it snowing on Christmas day in Key West. It's certainly possible, but strong odds against. But your guy managed to beat those odds and lose.

I'm glad you like living in Florida. i like Florida too. I wish i could spend more time there.

Let's say you are right, that the fed tax dollar benefit includes retirement ,SS, Welfare etc.

That being the case, and the biggest net recipient states all being red states and biggest donor states all being blue states don't you see a disconnect there? isn't it the republicans who are screaming about too much spending?

And when you think of welfare queens driving Cadillacs you think someplace like Detroit, right? Yet, according to which states are recipient states it more like Birmingham or Atlanta.

Taking my New Jersey money and giving it someone in Florida, or Alabama, or Georgia, is that not socialism?

How do we say hypocrisy when those who benefit the most from socialism claim to abhor it?

IMO, those screaming the loudest for spending reform need to give it a rest. That would be the recipient state tea party congressional delegation. When they can replace New Jersey money with their own they earn a right to speak out. Until then sit down and shut up! Or at the least stop spending my money!!!!

NF Sure,, you have an opinion. In my opinion the socialists need to go ahead and donate Everything they have to the government and then live off the crumbs the gov gives back to them. Now if you were a man of conviction, You would teach us all a lesson and start us out. It will show us how big your heart is, to start with.

Your blanket love of Marx doesn't equate to lucidity.

NF look up what that federal dollar consists of, as already stated part of that Federal dollar includes SS and medicare, those drawing it have earned them, they paid in those dollars, they are our social security and medicare dollars being returned to us, your NOT supporting them and you sure as hell not supporting me.

One of the biggest part of that Federal dollar we get is for Homeland Security, we did not ask for nor do we need Homeland Security which is nothing more than a domestic army to be used against American citizens, they are not something Florida Residents ever requested, want or need, they are forced on us like an occupying force.

Withdraw all of HS from the state of Florida and send them to a state that likes living in a police state, heck send them to New Jersey, you guys already enjoy living in a police state anyway you dont believe in having the right to defend yourself so I am sure you guys would welcome them with open arms. That way you get to keep those extra federal dollars.

We will NOT go quitely into the night!

it is not YOUR money...anyone who takes a position for payment, knows in advance of being hired that taxes will be imposed.
the money belongs to the united states of America...from the moment the job position is filled, taxes will be recovered...
this, "your spending my money", bs is just that...
lots of people didn't pay their phone tax, for the Spanish American war, in the Vietnam era...they were fined or went to prison...

IT IS NOT YOUR MONEY...the money belongs to the treasury of the united states of america

And even if someone disagrees with you on this, lets apply that concept to what companies do with your money after you exchange it for a good or service. Just like its still "your money" once you pay your taxes, right?

They spend gobs of it lobbying against your interests. They use even more as campaign contributions to buy off the people who run your government. And to add insult to injury, they spend a whole lot of it to over compensate CEO's who are not accountable when their incompetence and malpheasance tanks their company, or our whole economy. How dare they do those things with "your money"...

Funny, even Obama can't keep the Affordable Care Act "as it is" and wants to play king to modify it any time and any way he wishes. We no longer live in a Constitutional Republic!

It is not my income tax it is My Social Security tax I Paid. It is MY money, it came out of money paid to ME and paid by my employer on MY behalf. I can even look up every single dime I have paid in to my Social Security account. since my first job.

That money I paid in is to an insurance retirement fund called Social Security,*(OASDI) Old-Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance*federal*program and guarantee by US government.

Just like buying life insurance, by paying in my premiums I am guaranteed a retirement when I reach 66. I have paid in all my premiums and come 11/2014 I start drawing my $2350+ that is OWED to me......
