Roy,

I may be wrong (memory), but I believe Jeremiah Johnson only ate the liver of the Crow. (Indians) Believe that's why they called him "Liver Eating Johnson". :dontknow:

Jeremiah Johnson is a fictional character, based on a real historical mountain man.

Take care,

Joe

I agree with this 100%, not to say that any and all previous were inferior (I only have ever been to one after all) but the guest list is impressive. I can't wait to be there!

Joe - what, waste all that good meat? I always thought it was a sin for a hunter to waste meat. ;D :tongue3:

Er, I am tempted to say here that you of all of us, should not be too fastidious about such things, for we never did hear about how that feast proceeded in the Solomon islands at which your hosts were known cannibals, hmm? However fear not, no sock coffee is even on the menu as far as I know, unless you happen to get your first cup at our camp before joining the crowd around the campfire.

Still curious about that feast and the delicacies that passed the palates by the way; was it barbecued long or short pig? Maybe baby back ribs? ??? :icon_scratch: :dontknow: :help:

:tongue3:

Oroblanco la curious one

Rae would not let me go with out a tracphone . i broke 2 already you think she would learn by now . i almost broke this one . i just can not read the small writting and the bottons are to small ... about 7 years ago i had a real nice phone . i was standing talking to a friend about something very importain and it stated ringing and would not stop and i did not want to be rude to him and answer the phone right then . after about 5 mintues i stoped and answerd it . it was tella marketing BS and i said could you wait a mintues i stumped it into the kitchen floor i have not had a phone i 7 years .. i had that one for 2 years and used like 9 mintues ...so i really dont want this one .. so if someone finds a phone laying on the ground between ny and AZ its got about 259 mintues on it .. jack pot you own it !

Re: 2011 DUTCH HUNTER'S RENDEZVOUS

BB,

If you are sitting around the campfire and your phone rings - I want your phone and plan - last year I got almost nothing for a signal.

In fact - getting a signal in the Supes is a PITA. You'll probably have to hike up cardiac to get a signal.

lol my brother's phone worked great out there till you went down into the canyons ..

i just love when they ask if you would like to take a time to answer a few questions .. by then i am thinking of building a camp fire just to answer their questions ...

you take care and see you there god willing we can make fun of me together lol ...

Sorry, but I don't think cardiac is high enough... you still have the main mountain between you and civilization. Now up on the Flatiron is another story all together.

Here are a few shots I found on GoogleEarth of the Flatiron...

By the way, it is my understanding that the Flatiron was named by Tom Kollenborn for those who might want to know. When asked why he just said "because it looks like one."

BB,

Good luck at Crater Of Diamonds state park. My wife and I struck out but it was worth the visit just to be there. Didn't know about the other campground just up the road. Maybe next time.

All,

See you all soon at the Rendezvous. If I'm not there I'm probably dead or dying, ...you can send my wife Nancy the condolences.

Re: 2011 DUTCH HUNTER'S RENDEZVOUS

For those who don't know the Superstition Mountains, the first view is of the west face (looking east).
The next is showing the fantastic view from up there with Phoenix off in the distance to the right of the picture (looking west) and the last view is looking west also but rather down through Siphon Draw with Apache Junction at its base and Bob Schoose's restored ghost town "Goldfield" and little to the left of that and farther still is Ron Feldman's OK Corral. The Lost Dutchman State Park is on the right at the base of the draw. The trail you see in the middle comes from that parking lot/campsite. The Flatiron is on the extreme left of that photo up at camera level.
Out of view and six and a half miles southeast (118 degrees) of the Flatiron is where the Rendezvous will be held near the Peralta Trailhead.

Don Jose,

I doubt you would want to hang glide from this location as it is under nearly constant surveillance AND it's a state park... What kind of cake you want with your files and hacksaws?

These pictures have been gleaned from GoogleEarth where there are many such posted of the area. I try to give credit where credit is due.
