12 INCH TROMMEL BUILD

Here's what came out of 59 gals of dirt ran through the old "not greatly designed" sluice. It still did the job. Now I don't think I'll need to worry about loss.
Thanks again for those tanks. That's the most ran in one trip, and didn't have to worry about water.

Garrett I can't even begin to tell you how many barrels and bucket I have collect over the last few years. I was putting the barrels on CL and selling them. Lately been giving them away. This is just a few I have in storage. My mining buddies have barrels and buckets stored over at their homes. I have barrel and buckets at my home.

Quite the collection Keith.
I'd like to take one of the ones you gave me and put some dividers in them so the first chamber takes the slurry. Then over flows on a screen to collect debris. Then flows over to third chamber where the pump would be.
This came to me when I was out with Jeff this last weekend. I think the hard part would be doing the legs.
Maybe I could get jay to make that stand.
Would've been nice to see ya this trip. Didn't do any detecting though. Saw some promising spots, but didn't even pull out my detector.

AzViper I have a good use for a few of those 15 gallon containers. Jeff can tell you more about the area I'm working. We just might be able to meet at Jeff's claim in March.

When in March? I will be in LA the 7th - 10th. I have to move someone then swing by and see my brother in Lake Havasu.

Hopefully the 3rd week... Like Monday 17th and a few more days. At least I believe that's the week he was talking about.

That trip is definitely not a one day trip. I'm planning on three days down there. Hopefully I can take my kids with me. Their legs are better than mine.
Jeff is a great host. I enjoyed the time we chatted. His wife is nice to. She truly loves to dig. Very ambitious. She seemed like she'd rather be getting the overburden off to bedrock, instead of sitting around the fire chatting. I believe she's got the fever. Jeff's a lucky guy to have found somebody like her. I love to dig up the color as well. My friends look at me like I'm crazy, especially my wife. She puts up with me though and lets me chase my dreams. It's all for my family anyways. Maybe I am crazy, but when I see the color pop out of the black sand, it sure puts a smile on my face. With each speck, flake, or picker it gets bigger and bigger.
So if you see me walking around with a big a.. grin. You know that pan was good.

For now I'm planning a trip to RH at the end of February (Thursday-Saturday) and then meeting Jeff down there possibly the 19th-21st.
Tomorrow I'm planning on finally going through the little dirt I brought back. I'm hoping to devise something to help carry the dirt. Since my left side has issues I need to be creative if I'm going to carry dirt a good distance. I always hope to get 60 gallons of dirt to run at home. Plus I hope to run 30 gallons minimum when out in the field. This trip was more to just test a couple spots for Jeff. The next one I'll take more, but I'm hoping to do more testing of spots to help him map out the claim. I'm always willing to help out a friend and I'm glad to put Jeff and his wife on my list.

The only day I could make it down would be on Saturday the 15th. Will bring a bunch of buckets and empty barrels for the taking.

The 15th for me would be good to go with as well, especially since no pools then. My oldest son is off Tuesday and Wednesday. So I'll come up (down) Monday evening.
So how's the shoulder coming along?
Hopefully I could do some detecting with ya someday. Granted my detector isn't the greatest, but I know it'll do good enough if it's big enough. Lol.

Great news to report out of Lake Havasu, Arizona. My brother went to the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale on Wednesday and today the doctor called with the results of the PET scan. The scan came back negative of cancer. This is the first of many PET scans but its a beginning. Now the issue is his back and the vertebrates having collapsed. The doctors will not fuse his back until his blood has cleaned up from the Chemo/Radiation. He has already had 5 blood transfusions but the blood is still not in a good range.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Such great news! Secondary recovery! I hope it sticks and he can get back to healthy again. Do you guys go digging together?

No we don't. I will be heading to LA on Saturday and plan to surprise my brother by stopping by Lake Havasu on Monday.

Hey Keith.

That's great news about your brother. What are they doing to help clear the blood? Besides transfusions. I was wondering if they say to take other vitamins or minerals. I know one of my docs had me taking this powder which helps take out the metals we've been injesting. I don't know if it does the same thing for chemo. I'll ask him and see. I've got a bunch of the powder. Since I don't take religiously.

Hey Garrett, how did Greaterville go this week? I will be heading down to pick up my VAC as I am heading to Lake Havasu. Going to try some drywashing while in the area of LH. Did you take some barrels and buckets with you that I dropped off with Jeff?

I suppose my trommel build will not get an award from GoodGuy for a FAST DIY build... LOL... I have to much on my plate to worry how quickly my trommel build takes, first I am not in business to build equipment nor do I ever plan to build to sell. My first priority are my custom poker tables and chairs I build. Gold mining and building equipment to gold mine are a distant second, but my main priority is getting my replaced shoulder healthy so I can do the things I want to do this summer.

Az.. do you have a website with prices and options on the tables?

As I get older, I start to see that settin priorities are one of the most important things. After all, you can't do everything so you might as well do what you like first. Nice work.

I decided to build a new water manifold for distribution of the water. Will have 1.5" pipe fitting for my water inlet, two 1-1/4" fittings for brass ball valves, and a 1" fitting for a ball valve. The two 1-1/4" ball valves will feed the hopper and the spray bar. I also will not be using a U shape spray bar on the hopper but a water diffuser to flush the dirt and rock into the trommel. The water diffuser will mount to the back of the hopper. I will have some free time coming up after my knee surgery and will get this trommel finished up.
