Guys, I found this yesterday at an old homesite. I've never seen one before in person. I have seen one with a faint m/m, but this one has absolutely no sign even under magnification. The pics are the best I can do and really doesn't do the coin justice. Any suggestions on how to clean the dirt off would be welcomed. The coin has a very good rim and no pitting or damage. It does have a green patina that I would like to keep. BTW no oil or anything put on coin yet. Thanks for looking. swingin

Repeating my question, when grading services slab coins do they remove
soil encrustation or slab the coin "as is"?

Lastleg, to answer your question, none of the "slabbing" companies will do ANYTHING to alter the appearance of a coin submitted to them for slabbing. you could however submit your "needs help" coins to ncs here:
http://www.ncscoin.com/ Check their site for some awesome before and after conservation work they have done. ncs is partnered with NGC, so they will slab your coin after NCS is done with it. (for a nominal fee of course) :)
hope this helps.

found what i thought was a no d mm afew weeks back.after soaking it for a couple of weeks took it to a coin shop where he put under microscope and showed me it was a week d bad corrosion still sold it for 10 bucks

That is a banner find for sure.CONGRADULATIONS! Art Of Fact.

Would an ultrasonic sink mess it up? I use mine to clean just about everything I find. A little soap and water and run the sink. It doesnt discolor anything (Unless I use chemicals.)

Gotta be careful with some coin dealers. Technically EVERY 22 "plain" came out of the Denver mint. What power was the microscope do you know? There are some semi-valuable "weak D" varieties. I hope you weren't taken advantage of that's all.

I've never used an ultrasonic setup myself, but I'm pretty sure it's ok as long as it is just soap and water. Never use anything abraisive, or any chemicals at all, if it's possible you have a rare coin. On the other hand, if it's just spending change, abraise away! hahahahaha :)
