Guys, I found this yesterday at an old homesite. I've never seen one before in person. I have seen one with a faint m/m, but this one has absolutely no sign even under magnification. The pics are the best I can do and really doesn't do the coin justice. Any suggestions on how to clean the dirt off would be welcomed. The coin has a very good rim and no pitting or damage. It does have a green patina that I would like to keep. BTW no oil or anything put on coin yet. Thanks for looking. swingin

update; 1922P wheatie Authentic

Guys, I posted this wheatie around 5 or 6 weeks ago. It took forever to get it back from anacs. But it was worth the wait. I wonder what are the chances of finding one of these. Truely my best find so far. Hope you enjoy. Swingin

Congrats on the penny... it's not a P tho.. it is a misstike Denver was the only mint to make a 1922 penny... you have a very valueable penny there!!

Good job of leaving it alone (no cleaning) cause then it would of been slabed with two problems.

Nova:

When a heavily corroded penny is slabbed does the corrosion completely
stop or does it continue to deterioate?

Absolutely a banner find. An authenticated 1922 plain Lincoln cent is the stuff of dreams. Congratulations!

Nova:

Repeating my question, when grading services slab coins do they remove
soil encrustation or slab the coin "as is"?
