Witnessed Fall / Meteorite

They may have many samples mailed to them for examination. Patience may be the order of he day.

Never found any of these but very interested on seeing your outcome. Good Luck!!

Would they 'the experts' have that many samples daily to be testing specimens full-time?

No, I doubt they spend a great deal of time testing samples from the public. Years ago, a professor I know sent a sample to the Smithsonian and got the results months later. In that case, it was not a meteorite. I should think they would want to look at it right away though, because of the interest they expressed and because they analyzed Souhampton. So I don't think you'll have too long a wait.

No news yet....3rd day since the sample has been delivered/received. ;)

Hello folks,
Got a reply from the 'Head Curator' .....reason it took so long is when my package arrived...He had Work/Institute business out of Canada the same day!....so he has reassured me that the package will be waiting for him on his return...which isn't to be too long.
So.....up-date here soon.

Well fellow Hunters, I've received info that 'The Main Man' will be back 'In Country' in a couple of days.
It'll be good to hear from him when the Tests/Analysis gets Rolling!!

Just a little up-date: The 'main-man' should be back at the institute tomorrow...
So....hope he didn't miss his flight!! :laughing7: :tongue3:

Anyway, no reply today folks....and not gonna email and bother a man that's just returned to his home and work..after a week of work (out of Canada)....
when news arrives T/N'ers will know! ;)
Cheers and Luck!!! fellow Hunters! :)

Well......sci-fi and all,

Anyone know if "No news is Good news"???

Debating whether to "Pester them tomorrow" or not. Heh heh heh! :)

I would think that zero news is good news, but you could send over an email asking if they did in fact complete a preliminary analysis.

Wow buddy the suspense is getting to me. I hope you find out soon. Email them today and just ask what they are thinking or if they have got to it yet. Can't wait to hear what it is.
