Would they 'the experts' have that many samples daily to be testing specimens full-time?
Well...that would be nice Charl, ...no big deal I guess, since I've waited 35 Years already!!! Heh heh!No, I doubt they spend a great deal of time testing samples from the public. Years ago, a professor I know sent a sample to the Smithsonian and got the results months later. In that case, it was not a meteorite. I should think they would want to look at it right away though, because of the interest they expressed and because they analyzed Souhampton. So I don't think you'll have too long a wait.
Just a little up-date: The 'main-man' should be back at the institute tomorrow...
