Ok Kirk I was waiting for someone else to say it and no one has unless I missed it. If you are in real distress about the scratch just let me know and I will pay shipping and handling on it for you to send it to me!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

I apologize in advance. We're both Wilver Wuvin White's Guys, but I had to Wonder if things were different years ago....hmmmm (scratchin my chin)

LMAO at these photos, clearly we have too much time on our hands. Well I'm off to look for gold up and down the beach, later!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA Funny stuff!!!

Great find once again Kirk! All I have to say is that pinpointing with Whites is so GOOD, that we HAVE to deck them every once in a while just to believe it! Some other detectors are much poorer at pinpointing and have to dig a foxhole for recovery.

You should have keep your first post....I was explaining that it is easy to pinpoint with the Whites machines!  I agree!!!  Even for those super deep coins at 5" that's signals are breaking up LOL.  Try pinpointing a dime at 10+", its a little harder!  ;D ;D ;D :P :P :P ;D ;D ;D

thats one beaut of a coin ! think i'd sh$# my pants if i would find one of those here where i live :o congrats on the find ! and great post also ;)

Hey Storm, thought the above modification was aliitle more polite ;)

I rountinely find the coins at 10" with my Whites and easily pick up cannonball signals and such at 3-4 ft and more...it is all depends on the coil you use...your not going to get more than 5 or 6 with the standard 950 or 5.3" but with my 10"x14" Excelerator Coil which runs VERY deep, I get the same unbelievable depth as my good buddy Ronin with his Explorer SE.

Thats amazing...I had the Whites DFX and the DD1400 10 x 14 also. Couldn't get as deep as my buddies SE in All Metal mode. I know, we tried to compare targets before we dug. I couldnt event get a blip of the screen over a 7" deep silver dime. But our soil here sucks also, thats why I had to get rid on my DFX and go with a machine designed for this type of soil. I am not saying that the DFX is bad!!! I am saying it doesnt work for us here in our soil conditions for anything deeper then 6".

Here is my setup I had and sold....

No, not the Whites 8x14" DD1400. I use the Excelerator 10x14 DD...BIG difference...also, I dont know about a DFX but I use a MXT and it is very sensitive and deep!!!

I have the same coil on my SE right now....It does get deep! I dug a pocket watch today at 12" LOL I was hoping for deep silver but it was brass or something...DOH!!!!!!

Yeah, my good bud Ronin9868 had the Excelerator 12.5 and I was so impressed that I got the newer 10x14 DD and it is unbelievable! I pulled a button about the size of my thumbnail from the 1600s at about 8" inches last weekend. It sounded like it was at 2" inches as the signal was LOUD and clear..could have gone deeper for it if it had needed to.

Storm, I would rather dig a half reale out at a depth of 3" instead of digging 10" for a Mercury. If I saw you do that, I would probably laugh. Seriously, give me a field anyday over an average park. Plus, I'll take a Conn. coppa at 0" (literally, it was) anyday over a Rosie at 8.5". hahaha

HH!

Yeah I prefer old battlefields, deep woods and cotton fields...or ANY fields for that matter, especially freshly turned ones ;) :)

Also in addition to above....most old coins are not that deep. In parks where they mow the lawn and people trample over the ground everyday I guess modern coins 1900-present can get that deep but in old fields and sites the OLD coins are usually no deeper than 6-7" and most are at around 4. ;)

My style is your style, bud. When I was a rookie, the park was the best place to hunt. Even then, I got bored. But, I got wise and did some "research, historical research" on my area. Well, it is paying off! :) 8) 8)
