Hey man, dont get me wrong Kirk, I would MUCH rather find a colonial especially that GW you found...not because the are worth more (although some are) but because they are more rare to find. My buddy has found a 1773 Virginia Colonial Half Cent, a 1823 Large Cent, a Flowing Hair and a Spanish Reale a couple of weeks ago. That is my cliche, my style. We have been harvesting the Civil War relics but we come up on old coins while searching. Last coin found was a 1778 King George III in Beautiful Condition ;) ;) 8)

"For the love of god!!! It says $20.00 on the coin ROFL Thats like not knowing how much a "One Dime" is worth hehehehehe"

Well I should have been more clear what I meant which is that some of the Eagles and Double Eagles werent labelled with the face value (older ones)...and what I was speaking of exactly was that alot of new guys to detecting have never seen Eagle and Double Eagles etc as they are not really into coins but have been caught by that feeling of excitement when you find a relic or other treasure and THAT is what has brought them to detecting, not their knowledge of coins...That is what I meant.

Five Pistareens minus two make three! Ya spend all yer time lookin' for coins
just like me! Now how the devil did I wind up respondin' to this here post?

Do you see me laughing at "Grubby?" Nope, he finds those 1700s coins in CA! It is the detectorist, not the area. ;)

Yeah.....OK!!!! :D :D :D ;)

We are talking about Colonial coins, not 1700's coins! There is a difference!

By the way, look what I found in my backyard tonight well I was testing my new coil here in Oregon.....

It's a Roman coin hoard!!!! I guess, you are right Kirk....It really doesn't matter where you live, any good detectorist can pull stuff like this out of the ground regardless of location. Imagine that...A Roman hoard right outside my back door in a 1920's town!!!!! Amazing!!!! :D :D :D :D

Looks like the ra-search is really paying off for you, Storm... ;D :D :D ;D :P Man, how did you know you would find a Roman coin hoard right in your backyard. It must be obvious now.....you are a detectorist that is highly skilled because you found a Roman Coin hoard right in your backyard.

Minelabs rock!!!! You sure make Minelab proud!!
;D ;D

Sorry Kirk, I had to do it. All in jest, bud. :-*

Great find once again Kirk! All I have to say is that pinpointing with Whites is so GOOD, that we HAVE to deck them every once in a while just to believe it! Some other detectors are much poorer at pinpointing and have to dig a foxhole for recovery.

Not with my Deleon, pinpointing is easy and straightforward.

Congratulations on that Walker. That is a beaute and definately my favorite coin design.

I also must admit that you guys are some very tough looking detecting dudes. So much so that after my 13 years of prior military time I think the military could really use you guys.

You guys have been posting great finds for a long time here so I know you are great detectors.

How about we safely tape up steel rods extending 1 foot below your feet to you guys to all of those sculpted muscles and use your powers of detection in IRAQ sending you down the roads. The luck and skill you all have shown in the past will without a doubt result in your easily finding an nice IED or 2.

What ya think guys up for the challenge?

LOL Joking guys. Great Walker.

I love this thread. Now my station wagon is a "treasure vehicle".

Thus it has been stated. Thus it is so.
