Why are some projectile points curved?

Don't have a photo from the side available .......... but this point is not straight; it has a slight curve along the central axis.

When they flaked a spall off the core material the flake was curved. Instead of tossing it they utilized it into a point, and sometimes they fashioned it into a knife. I have found several quite similar. Sometimes you wonder if it would have flown straight. They could have also utilized it as a halfted knife.

Asymmetrical sides usually is from one edge having been sharpened more, which usually is indicating use as a knife. The curve is just from the way the material came off.

I go with what both of them said, you would have to look at the piece closer to tell for sure which one.
