CN it was just emailed to me. If you promise not to tell Anyone I will fwd you a copy. What do you think that Big X means?

I have a map that I discovered on the back of a painting that was completely sealed (until I tore a hole in it) I would like to know how to get it verified. If it is legitimate then I would need someone to go find it.
It was sealed up over 50 years ago. It is not a copy. Any suggestions?

Just don't bring it to any Archie or some museum, or government agency! You will lose it real quick! How do you know it is a treasure map?

If you use it to find the treasure - it is authenic.

Any other outcome it is a fake, joke or fantasy work.

Good hunting.

All joking aside, you will just have to find someone you trust, and check it out.

Is a specific area indicated?

Is it local to you?

Please follow up, and post your results, Good Luck.

I'd say the best way to authenticate it is to follow it.....

But if you do authenticate it you might not want to let us all know about it. :laughing9:

I'm with Nitric.... How do you come up with "it's been sealed for 50 years"? How did you know it was in there? Why would you need someone to go find it? There's only 1 way to authentic it.... Just go have some fun!!!!

Tell us about the painting or post a pic with frame. Show us the paper back of the map please. What country or state are you located in?

Treasure Map

Okay, the map is drawn by pen right on to the back of the painting. The back was then sealed and stamped by the framing company. It is because of the stamps that I know it had never been re-opened until I tore it and noticed it when I when to hang it. I researched the original owner and he had a logging company in the area in the 1930's. The painting is signed and dated 1955.

It has directions landmarks and yes....an X marking the spot. So based on my research the land in the area is currently undeveloped but there are homes nearby.

So I guess what I am looking for is someone interested in hunting for the loot without leaving me out of the loop. Is that even possible?

Surely you have a close friend or family member who would be a far more reliable treasure hunting partner than an unknown person from Tnet? Last thing I would do is have some stranger out looking for a supposed treasure with me.

So, the owner of this logging company just willy nilly sent off his valuable treasure map to be sealed and framed? Don't you think he would have been concerned about all the workers at the frame company getting a peek at his treasure map?

I was just about to write the exact same thing when I read the owner wrote the map on the back of the picture and sent to get it framed!

I am not knocking the OP, but "New Member", "3 Posts" and many of us here being here for years know about new members with this all of a sudden treasure story/maps, etc? I agree with T.C. He is reeling as many people as he can on this, otherwise, he would have shown a picture of the painting, frame, or other evidence to support his claim like area, state, country, etc.

Well let's just hope that wasn't the place the maker of the map wanted to be planted when he died!

Winnah winnah, chicken Dinnah!!! Oh, wait. Maybe he owned the framing company. It takes logs to make frames!:laughing7:

Okay. Diamondbuddy, assuming you're serious, why don't you check it out yourself? Is it too far away and you lack the funds to go for this yourself? In what State is this treasure supposedly located?

Realistically, you need to figure out how to check this out on your own. You can enlist help if you need it and work out terms if anything is found, but if you aren't there when the area is searched you will have to rely on the word of a stranger that nothing was recovered. Not a good idea.

Wish I could find my own treasure map! That would be cool!

Send me your address and I'll see what I can do...ok?:tongue3: Damn kids... I'll give ya clue where to "find it" later. I'm not your mother but I'll do my best!!!!
