what would happen if the earth stopped spinning

The Earth is a round ball, and it's spinning at roughly 1000 mph. Surprise! View attachment 2171870
revolves at 1 revolution per day. you'all yak about animal magnetism, but all I have is mesmerism

Agree with red-Coat...the Earth is indeed a planet, and it rotates at roughly 1000 mph. at the equator.

In the northern hemisphere, look up at the sky at night, and pick out a particularly bright star..then go look at it again an hour later, and it's not in the same place in the sky. Earth rotates counter clockwise, so we are rotating from right to left, which makes the stars appear to be moving to the right.

If the Earth did not rotate, we would be "tidal locked", and only one side of the Earth would ever get Sun.

if you let go of a baloon at it hits he sealing why the baloon stays still and not move left or right forward or backwards.

if you empty a bottle of water why does the water poor straight down not on the sides ?

taking what you have been told as fact is stupidity make ur own experiments use ur own brain not everything you have been told is true.

I love the map that is actually the right form of the earth it was first drawn by a muslim mapper and it was upside down { his maps were used to explore the rest of the unkowen world "USA" usa was on his maps before they discovered it}, untill the people who told you the earth is round and it is a planet and it rotates decided to flip it.
now if you wana tell me a diffrent story about that land i wont hear it because i heard it thounsand of times and it still makes me laught everytime.

i am not trying to convince anybody also i am not giving out a personal idea, it is based on the most hated book by non muslims i think you know wich one i am talknig about.

We have made Earth stationary for the planets and stars to hover around it.

And this happened........how? Was there a memo about this? :dontknow: :dontknow:

yeah Quran

Earth's gravitational pull is exerted from the centre of its mass, so all objects are pulled in what we perceive to be a 'downwards' direction towards it. If it were possible for you to be at the exact centre of Earth's core, you wouldn't experience its gravitational attraction... only the weaker gravitational pull from the Sun and other distant large celestial bodies.

Although the Earth is spinning, you and everything on it including your house, the atmosphere and the oceans are spinning with it at the same speed. Since the speed of rotation is almost constant, you don't experience any sensation of movement because everything else is moving with you, but you would notice if it suddenly slowed down (or speeded up). For the same reasons, you don't experience the forward motion in a speeding car at constant speed, but do notice if it suddenly accelerates or brakes.

The flat static Earth picture and my comment about the spin-dryer effect was intended as a joke. The evidence for Earth being a sphere (albeit slightly flattened at the poles because of its spin creating a bulge at the equator) is overwhelming to all but the most stubborn die-hard believers in a flat Earth.

yeah Quran
You read a book and believe everything in it...? Regardless of what's been proven or is obvious fact? Your ideas are about as nutty as the flat earth believers. Where do you get these ideas or theory's...? I know.... a book.

Read first for research only then try compare facts , just giving ur opinon and not giving a chance for a diffrent idea to go through ur brain is lazyness.
You dont wana read it i wont take ur opinon into consideration for a further discussion

I respect that , thats an idea.

Marlee, I have no issue with a persons right to believe as they choose, but I also believe we must pay heed to absolute, undeniable facts that we can see and experience with our own eyes.

Place a satellite in a fixed location in space, and point the camera back to Earth. It records the Earth rotating, while Earth is also circling our star along with the other planets.

Speaking for myself, I'm always willing to give thought to a new idea, however I will not accept something on faith when there are volumes of absolute scientific evidence to the contrary. Your book was written before this knowledge was attained by humanity, therefore it speaks of what people thought were the facts at that time.

Just so you are aware, I referenced "your book", as religious discussion of any type is not allowed on TNet.
