I thought Kalifornia was "Northern Mexico" now?
I was born in SoCal after my kin moved there BEFORE the Depression from Indian Territory.
Then some moved north and we followed in 1960s after the Watts Riots.

We could hear gunshots and sirens from where I lived.
I had 3 books of S&H Greenstamps that I couldn't turn in because the place was torched.
Wonder what happened to those...

pray for me my sister-inlaw is coming here frum Ontario Oregon.

Try an protect her from culture shock.
Actually many folks in Oregon are pretty civilized.
We now have indoor plumbing and electric power to our homes.
Of course east of the mountains can be a bit different.
Most of the Indians do stay on the Reservations but no guarentees on that.
