Watch this space?

Records from early action and such are there... but can be vage at best.
Other accounts by "storytellers"... Enlisted accounts of maritime... has been rich before.

thats why I wanna see the charts and maps, no one is gonna pluck around with hiding stuff ( ships) that sticks up off the seabed and can sink you....

IF I were you...
concerning BVI... IF you are going to return to it...
Look for "Caribbean" island (S)
Words like "interruption" (S)
words like "occupation" with and without the added "of" etc...
Catch my drift ?
Anything before it becomes British is where you should "stay"... records then seem to be more of "observations" and not "padded" so to speak.

Well yes and no...
IF a wreck was of ANY real value ... it was not marked
Tha would be like me telling the interenet where a pile of gold is today...
You never marked valuable ones...
that's why "records" of these are so scarce...
They exist... but very rare.
Even 1715 only had one... and all it was was small x's... (by the way I have 2 maps marked the same way) :P NOT there either.

Last thing you wanted to do is have an exact location... that could lead someone ELSE to what you know.
Salvage maps were made...
Right before launch in my opinion...
Eyewitness accounts of where the "wreck" was were closely guarded and I am sure because you are talking about GOV money it was punishable by the worst fate... if survivors were caught disclosing where the "kings" cash was...

Secrecy of things... ALL things... was the best defense.

:P
many moons and many reads ago :P

guess they never sent gold home to the king :)

There seems to be a theme regarding lost wealth. That of attempted or successful recovery. Recovered or not, not all were "lost" and a general location was made known by witnesses or survivors.
That cracked a page for the Fisher's.
Others were located by a variety of means but generalities of locations a plus.
Shipwrecks

Not trying to step on your toes ECS, just can't resist.

To all those men.

Who long and crave..

To frolic neath..

The oceans waves.

Don't forget...

Those mermaids rave...

Bout faces smooth...

Get Burma Shave!

Are you returning to VI ? or is your home UK ?

as a catholic * it is well worth noting that in the old days -that the "scribes" to most of the big time govenors were catholic priest --and often old church records are chockfull of info --gleaned from the reports they sent off --St Augustine has a nice batch of "old records" -- difficult get permission to access them unless you "know" people and being of the faith helps too.
