During the War,Shelby had many contacts with Quantrill's Raiders,including William Quantrill and Frank James in their skirmishes with the Jayhawkers and Red Legs.In 1867,Shelby served as a defense witness in the trial of Frank James.
John Newman Edwards,Shelby's adjutant during the War and during the Mexican adventure,moved back to Missouri,and became the editor of the KANSAS CITY TIMES.Edwards articles were pro ex-Confederates,and railed against the military Republican control in Missouri that let carpetbaggers seize land and the general oppression of Reconstruction tyranny.
Knowing both James brothers,he wrote articles defending their actions,stating that the James brothers were heroes,defending the rights of people against Republican impossed oppression.Edwards later wrote "NOTED GUERRILAS",a book defending the actions of Quantrill,Anderson,James,and Youngers.
It is not verified if his was a KGC member,but he had the contacts,and his newspaper articles supported their activities.

Mr. Edwards has been a person of interest to us. We have seen his name pop up here and there, enough to say that he was involved. To what degree I can not say. The fact that you reiterated about Edwards making Jesse and Frank out to be heroes catches my attention as a deffinent pointer to his intent. The Newspaper was a mouth piece that they loved to control. They could sway the opinions of many people with what ever they chose to print, or edit out. If you control their eyes and ears, then you control their brains. Excellent info, thanks for posting it.

Great thread! I vote yes he was paid, then became the fall guy. From my readings, Booth had a note from Stanton that got him across the bridge & out of town. After reading this entire thread, there is no mention on the part of the Rothschilds. From other readings, they started/financed the war between the states and gained their quest of financial configuration. Dr. George Bickley founded KGC IN 1854, having close ties with "The Seasons" of France, a branch of the Illuminati. Seward as he thought he did. The person receiving the news would have recorded that seward had been killed in his ledger not yet knowing the true outcome for at least an hour or so after the event if you lived in washington and were important, someone came to your house and told you what had happened.. My point being, by the day of the 13th of April you would have known Seward lived. If you recorded it otherwise you had obviously been misinformed when you wrote it down...

Up until now, no one could put their finger on why President Abraham Lincoln was killed for sure. Thus the many conspiracy theories and wives tales concerning the friends of James Beal and such. I had never heard of this particular thing mentioned by ole miss rebel, BUT, i have no doubts that it is true for the simple reason, ( if you will check the past) that when the U.S.A. meddles or tries to twist Israels tail, there is usually some type of calamity, whether on persons or in nature. This sounds like they are barking up the right tree to me! However, I don't see Andrew Jackson in the same light, do to his strong association with his Secretary of War Lewis Cass. Cass has been tied directly to K.G.C. members we have identified. His pro-Union attitude is thrown up like it says "There is no way this pro-union man is K.G.C.." I would suggest looking at Cass's address to the Democratic Democracy of Detroit and his true colors may be seen briefly. Even Lincoln himself stated Slavery or no slavery....the union must be maintained. Pro Union does not necessarily mean non-K.G.C.. It will be interesting to see the tie to the knights Templar indeed.
