The story is fake, the map is fake, there is no Wagoner's Lost Ledge in LaBarge.

Storm wrote that story because he hated Roy Howland and wanted to send legions of treasure hunters to the spot Howland was frantically searching, trying to find out where his two pieces of float ore he found came from.

Storm found out where Howland was searching and slid the knife into his back. End of story.

The original story of Wagoner, that Storm bastardized...I don't know if it's true or not but the one guy who had the story wasn't searching anywhere near where Storm said it was.

I still think it sounds like a cover story for high-grade retrieval, but who knows.

It could be possible he "used" a suitcase of some sort (more like a napsack) for the last time and grabbed what he could - knowing he wasn't going back in there. I mean, anything is possbile, but is it probable?

I'm not really struggling with this idea anymore. lol. There are parts along the trail I physically struggled with, especially at the end of the day (and Im in good shape, gym 5 days a week, eat healthy, Im 45 and look 30 because of it, etc...) and so....no old man with poor health is lugging suitcases full of ore around here. Not Whisky Springs. Not LaBarge. Not Red Tanks. Not happening. It's absurd (to me....everyone is free to disagree). A sick man is staying ON TRAIL and he is not carrying suitacases. A napsack, SURE! A napsack full of ore.....doubtful. That said, and I said it in the video too....a team of men could do this.

Remember what PotBelly said about why Kollenborn included those 7 shafts. What he said lines up with what I heard, from actual local THunters here on the ground. There is only 1 person that I can think of that is trying to convince us otherwise...well 2 people and the second one's initials are BS.
Some legends are not just wrong, but deceptive from the get-go and so "looking for the morsel of truth" or "discovering the riddle" in a story that was deceptive from the beginning is something Im not too interested in. Time is short!

Haha, you are acting like a kid who see a movie and is ready to fight the "bad" actor. You have been sucked by this story.
You forget the most details in this story are exagerated in regards to match the characteristics of a good movie scenario. Only a dragon is missed in this story.

I think, Wagoner found an already existing mine or Ore laying around from someone else's diggings - and by chance he come upon the reminants and took some for himself. The story states he roamed the area aimlessly. Who does that while in their right mind?
And yes, time is short and precious....

You got it totally wrong if you believe you are that person who will help people to find gold. I meant, if someone would help you or someone else, pointing out in an open forum a spot of gold somewhere, then you will be not alone there for sure.
I welcome the new TH generation who will make more entertaining the seek of the hidden treasures in those mountains full of mystery and secrets.

Jim, you are right, Wagoner's mine is not in LaBarge. There is only one gold mine in LaBarge but not close to the upper box.
The psychological punishment which did Climenson on Roy Howland was/is a method which is used even in our days. Look at those guys who are mocking a specific person in this site, in regards to find out from where the Camp gold ore came out. They are like sharks that have smelled blood. The same characters with those who torn down Chuck Crawford's house in regards to steal the "holy" stones and now their are proud and showing them around.

My issue was driving out to that waterfall (yes you can drive to it although the History Channel made it look like a 3 day mule laden journey...), then scooping up dirt, then bringing it home after exploring, then for the following week finding time to pan it, etc...
A weeks worth of work. $30 of gold.

They're not the same as the people who screwed Chuck. Completely the opposite. One of them is a good friend of mine and I've seen the level of care he has for people. He's as good as they come, on this earth at least.

There are many here who are good people. I can't speak for everyone, but the ones I've had encounters with, have a good Heart.

Yup! Whenever there's scratching around in the dirt going on, hours in the heat, carrying all the buckets, etc...I tend to get distracted quick and would rather go see what's over the next hill
