I have I believe a old Fubako black lacquer letter box
Has 2 Meiji Bu Nibu Kin gold golds but I do not know what the other 2 coins are one says Shizuola with dragon i believe
Other says Ka Nai
with some change other items on it .
Found with old scrapbook from the war about ships and a courage skill sportsmanship war metal .. I have no idea if one has anything to do with the other.

Interesting box. Unfortunately the coins do appear to be reproductions. Shizuoka (on what appears to represent a 50 sen piece) is the prefecture where mount fuji is located. I dont know about Ka Nai (on the 5 yen). Coins like that were never issued. I would love to inspect it close up in person though. Those gold bu ban kins and shu ban kins would be worth well into the thousands of dollars each if authentic. Where did you find that? State, country, etc.
cool find though

Cool lacquer box. That looks just like the one in the original Karate Kid where Morita drops his keys into just after the first rumble.
