Just pointing out to any thinking person that most of the posts being put up are complete bs. Just simple cherrypicking and anyone can do it. We call it simple antidotal evidence and it is the weakest form of proof.

This isn't about agreeing or disagreeing with any position on gun control. Its about understanding the use of false logic so folks can think for themselves and not be deceived.

I think I pointed out the fact that (as the thinking person I am) statistics are BS as I more or less stated in my first reply on this thread.

Hopefully everyone is a little more skeptical about everything they see. These are simple fallacy which are very easy to pick out once you know what to look for. Yes a red flag. Which is why I replied the way I did. As someone who doesn't know your position, I figured you for one of the flock that really believes what your title says. You know how it gets on here at times. Believe me , there are plenty of sheep out there that would eat that up and swallow it whole... hook line and sinker. I still think you may be one of the anti gun nuts, but that's your prerogative.

People's positions on a subject does not matter. A bad argument is a bad argument whether you agree with the "conclusion" or not. That is the point I'm trying to make. Be just as skeptical of "proof" from the pro gun side as "proof" from the Antigun side. Be skeptical.

maybe murders are down because instead of fighting back against armed or strong arm rapists, robbers and home invaders * unarmed citizens just "give it up" instead and just get beat up instead of killed -- or you see the police in NYC in a classic case of "fuzzy math" most likely in the past counted "shot crimals" killed in the act as "murder victims" since its impossible to get a pistol permit in nyc (sullivan act) so crooks shot by homeowners with "illegal guns" are counted as " crime victims " ie murdered * as were gang on gang crime victims

And do you think the same games might be played with statistics showing homicides increasing in areas where guns were banned (like everyones favorite chicago example) or are those examples all the gospel truth?

You know my thinking I suggest you take a few days and visit a police station and find a cop over the age 19 and ask him about the way hiring is done. Like I said before if your not a cop or firefighter you'll never get in their heads. If your a single child you have no idea what brothers stand for. So your saying murder stats are up because they are making up murders Murder stats are published ever year, for the murders stats to be increasing and not be accurate they would need to be making up murders that never happen.

I guess that is one way to keep people from moving to Chicago.

This is absolute nonsense. I see you chose New York for your example. Why not Chicago? Washington DC? More Guns, Less Crime Besides, the 2nd amendment is a God-given right. It preceded government and our Constitution, therefore it's not something that a government can legitimately take away.
