Trump to Declare National Emergency Today

Not going to argue...

Social distancing and hand washing seems to be working pretty well. We need to recognize that population density is playing a major role in how this spreads. Lower population densities are not seeing many cases. I don’t think that is because non essential businesses are closed. We have half dozen people per square mile..those hot spots have several thousand people per square mile.

The elimination of large gatherings and the closure of the schools has helped enormously.

Town has more traffic than usual..yet we still only had half dozen people sick...no deaths and currently no active cases...time to open up “non essential” businesses. We need to be aware of what is ACTUALLY happening locally, not what could happen or what DID happen in large cities.

People talk about reopening air travel like nobody is traveling...seems like people are moving around our country still. Maybe not as much air traffic, but people are not exactly staying locked in their homes.

The idea was to flatten the curve...not turn off our economy and lives until nobody got sick.

Herd immunity is a made up term. So if we were to accept that logic, then how come tens of thousands die every year from flu, and for decades on end? Where is the herd ammunity, or are we still trying to reach it for the flu?

False information intentionally put out by the media should be dealt with harshly and swiftly.
The lack of accountability shows the depth of the corruption. Vile, putrid scum.

Edit: thanks for letting me vent. I guess this has been eating at me some :tongue3:

It's like the matches catching fire,
if one match is pulled back, it stops the ignition process.

Another example, viruses in wild animals, say hogs/swine(for example).
The wild hogs may get sick here & there, die off. But because they
are so spread out, unlikely to cross paths, it's less likely they will
infect each other, spread it, as opposed to...
A densely populated hog farm.
Hogs crammed in so close together, they can barely move,
if a virus gets let loose among them,
it's going to burn through the whole lot of them. All of them!

I guess I've secretly been a closet germaphobe, most my life... :dontknow:
Never been one to like strangers touching, breathing all over me,
Kinda like, "yuck, get away from me, ughhh"... :laughing7:
I don't mind a little dirt, but down right nasty filthiness...
yeah, no, I can do without all that!
Who woulda thought, the most important thing I learned in school,
was how to avoid cooties. :laughing7:

Be smart ppl. Protect yourself in whatever you do.
That's about all we can do, atm...

Pat-,
Nice analogy with the match book. I totally get that, but wasn't social distancing (if done right) to do that break in the fire chain?

If the curve was flattened, future annual waves will be less numbers now.
My beef is the continued push for lock downs, and vaccines.
Both pushes at this point in time , reveal the true sinister motives.

It is obvious since neither is needed. The landscape has already changed.
The cure is slipping out of the bag (good guys made sure of that), so now it is easier to see the scum that needs to be neutralized.

We are coming up on the crossroads, and the bad guys are hopefully going to be getting exposed more and more.
A lot of hard work and some doing without is most likely in our near future, if we are to get things moving and people productive again.
For some, it may be a new experience to be productive.
I am just so tired of the blatant corruption.

But you're right, we do what we can for now.

"But you're right, we do what we can for now."

If your communities are not seeing more than a handful of cases over several months..contact your local government and demand they take action to somehow immediately to open non essential businesses.

If it takes a lawsuit against the state or outright disobedience so be it.

Part of what is bothering me is the absence of statistics for recovered or active cases.
This should be an essential number to be watching?

I'd like to see a map of the US showing active cases by county.
Has anybody seen a map like that?

I saw quite a few industry type businesses open,
or at least had cars in front, bays open. It was in a business district off turnpike,
bay warehouse area, so I'm sure there's plenty that are still working.

My mango stub paid off ;D Rode a possum out to the glades,
and I'll be johnbrown, if they haven't erected 12ft. fencing across the
boat ramp entrances on US27. FENCING! >:(
Had to ride past the airboat place and just pull by the roadside ramp,
on the east side. It had all kinda Closed notices posted...
I know we got MIL ops happening down here,
but I don't think they going after gators :icon_scratch:

Our open air public spaces should be open for.... wait for it.... wait...
THE PUBLIC. Helloooooo :hello:

If I can cram into a grocery store, liquor store, pot store, and abortion clinic,
I should dam well be able to be, in the free wide open public spaces!
remembering distancing, disinfectant, mask, gloves, etc... :BangHead:
What's right is right!

Our problem in Broward cty FL, if we open beaches & parks, and Dade cty doesn't,
all them Dade residents will flood our area, up here. They got REAL BAD numbers, folks!
Real bad! And don't seem to care.... :dontknow: affecting 43% Spanish folks... so sad...
If you ever been in any business in Miami, you can tell at the door...
last time that door handle seen any water, was when hurricane Andrew
blew some in sideways on it, over 20 years ago!
They a lot of them, nasty down there... (90% of the areas) It's sad, too...
but that's another story...

Stay strong folks!

My states governor has seen fir to approve a racial disparity task force regarding covid 19.
We have densely populated areas in her former/current district that have been partying hearty /sharing things they mouth...Having B.B.Q.'s with lots of folks ect. ,ect.. With no visit from the governor to say knock it off.
She fears lecturing supporters I guess.
So we'll study the disparity instead...

Try this-- your state, county then the word covid19 dashboard------[broome county ny covid 19 dashboard ]

They had on the news today that covid19 was racist because a disproportionate number of blacks are catching it.
some of the stuff they come up with boggles the mind.

Those of you who think South and Central America, India, and Africa, have dodged a bullet, wait. The figures you see are irrelevant. No one is counting anything. And, they are the last to get started. Everyone was bragging on Japan, Singapore. They are hurting now. It takes time for this to get enough Typhoid Marys walking around.

If the "plateau" actually plateaus, then the disease is going to keep walking through the population, at that rate. With restrictions. We are dealing with a bat virus. Zero immunity, zero genetic memory, it's mutating so fast, there may never be a vaccine. We're finding out it attacks in many ways.

Opening the economy, going back to school, opening hair and nail salons, will cause a huge increase in cases. I don't want to say it's a futile situation, there's always hope. They revised the prediction a week or two ago, from 200,000 dead, down to 60,000. Well, we'll be at 60,000 next week, and now that 200,000 dead number is looking optimistic. They are not saying that, of course, in fact, the daily death toll in the U.S. is not mentioned prominently anymore, now that it is horrific.

I noticed today, on my weekly food run, the stores are three times as busy as a couple of weeks ago. Much more car traffic. Only half are wearing masks. I actually had a Wally's employee, walk into me with a full shoulder collision. I watched her walk toward me, as I was parked with my cart off to the side, and had nowhere to go. She looked right at me, before she slammed me. Not even an excuse me. Like training fish. They don't believe it. Clinging to belief in sinister motives, here in the U.S., is just wrong, IMO. Our elected leaders are screwed, trying to find the way out of this. There isn't a good way out.

You make a good point, Kray :icon_thumright:

Haven't thought about the US being re-infected by folks coming from countries that are not going to peak until months from now after our travel restrictions have been lifted.
I also bet that folks that have not been taking this all that serious up to now may have a rude awakening coming.

As for myself I'm hoping that the illness I had last month was covid-19 and now I'm immune. (time will tell)
It may come down to most everyone being infected at some point to finally be rid of it.

Of course I'm sure labs in China are working on the next pandemic as we speak.

So much Corona... so little limes.

Bah... who am I kidding...

whoever thought of putting lime in a beer should be flogged.

Can anyone explain this?
Why are the US statistics of covid cases and deaths so far out of line when compared to the top 10 countries in the world?

According to Johns Hopkins University it's spreading faster here and more are dying here than anywhere else in the world by a longshot ???
https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/cumulative-cases

Now I wish I had a real mask instead of a bandana, I'm thinking we have been lied to!

Testing. Other countries are Probably Not testing as Fast or as Much.
as for Deaths :dontknow: I can think of several reasons

blaming the u.s. other countries, politics, etc

GG,
The explanation I got from a presser, it was commented on in regards to the amount of testing taking place in US, compared to other countries.

It made sense to me, except that I also read about earlier testing that was faulty. Also read some reports of documenting cv when no test was done.

It will be interesting to see how the overall deaths for flu (flu + cv) for 2019/2020 season compare to previous past few years. I have a hunch the total numbers will be about the same as previous years.

I think there were infiltrators put in place well in advance to this that want the numbers to appear a certain way. Their job was/is to do anything to pull it off.
The rest of the explanation is political.

At least that is my take away so far.
But who knows?

I do not see the advantage of making false statistics.
Where is the profit in putting everyone out of work. :dontknow:

Who would be the winner in all of this?

I am wondering about plan b.
It appears that the camp that wants to have everyone vaccinated and implanted with a chip of some sort that keeps track of our vaccinations. And that way, walking past a scanner, will alert the others if in the future, there is another required vaccine to go to work, then the others will know that person is not safe.

That camp hates losing, so do they have a bioweapon plan b?
We've been under attack, and so far I don't think they have what they are after.

One camp is for freedom, the other one is not.

WHO to start, but they are a pawn.
Broke, sick, hungry Americans would corral themselves up to get aid from the NEW Boss in town.
You know the rest of that story. FEMA camps etc.
