I've been hitting an old toboggan run these last couple of weeks. Back during the time that it was operational the hill was free of trees, now it's overgrown with trees and roots. I've been finding lots of silver, tons of wheaties, and 2 Liberty nickels. I doubt this site has been detected before. Most diggers around here go after the parks that have already been pounded to death because the access is easy and their coils are easy to swing. Here are 2 of my best finds so far. The Barber is in fantastic condition I just couldn't believe it. It was under a root. Same thing with the Walking Liberty. I found it under a root next to a 1946 dime, 1944 wheat, and 1926 Buffalo Nickel. Thanks for looking.

SWEET finds!! Old sled runs are great places to hunt!!

I always prefered the SLQ but the Barber quarter is in astonishing condition. Congrats on the sweat silvers! :occasion14:

I've never found an SLQ and in fact this is the first year I've found any type of silver quarter. This toboggan hill has given up 2 silver Washington Quarters, this Barber, 2 war nickles and about 12 Mercury and silver Roosevelt dimes. I'm heading back there tomorrow, I cant wait.

I love barber coins! Congrats on finding a honey hole. Looking forward to more posts.

Those are killer! Nice hunting.

I have thought about all the sledding hills where I grew up but it's a 400 mile one way trip so I guess it will wait.Awesome coins.

Congrats on a great hunt! The local sledding hill here has been operational since late 1800's, but alas...is located in our biggest "no detecting allowed" city parks...but I'm currently working with the new parks Superintendent to reverse that lousy ordinance. Great post. Go tear it up tomorrow! Ddf..

Awesome finds. I knew about where you were from with the Dr. Witty. Do you suppose my age shows ?

Great looking coins. In good condition.

Great display of dug silver. I too know where there several old toboggan and sledding hills but they are 1,000 miles from here.

Dropped in again just to see those coins they are Beauty's.

Nice work taking the path less traveled, it's obviously paid off.

Love those coins, great job!
