I've been hitting an old toboggan run these last couple of weeks. Back during the time that it was operational the hill was free of trees, now it's overgrown with trees and roots. I've been finding lots of silver, tons of wheaties, and 2 Liberty nickels. I doubt this site has been detected before. Most diggers around here go after the parks that have already been pounded to death because the access is easy and their coils are easy to swing. Here are 2 of my best finds so far. The Barber is in fantastic condition I just couldn't believe it. It was under a root. Same thing with the Walking Liberty. I found it under a root next to a 1946 dime, 1944 wheat, and 1926 Buffalo Nickel. Thanks for looking.

Those are beauties!! And, you've got that patch of dirt all to yourself?!?! Outstanding!!

I've never found an SLQ and in fact this is the first year I've found any type of silver quarter. This toboggan hill has given up 2 silver Washington Quarters, this Barber, 2 war nickles and about 12 Mercury and silver Roosevelt dimes. I'm heading back there tomorrow, I cant wait.

If I found that much silver at one spot I'd live there... Congrats

I have been three years trying to clean out my honey hole, very sweet pix, you must be a photographer when your not digging!

Awesome finds. I knew about where you were from with the Dr. Witty. Do you suppose my age shows ?

Well I suppose my age shows too. I loved Monster Movie Matinee as a kid. Epal and Dr. Witty

I actually took these pictures with my I-phone 5, which i think has a really lousy camera. First i choose a nice black background. Then I just get as close as i can to the coin while maintaining the best detail. After I take the picture I rotate and crop it, that's it. I'm no photographer, when I'm not digging I'm sleeping or working. Here is another Barber I found yesterday. This is what I expect of a barber of this age.
