That figure that you've chalked is actually 3 "V"s. The straight line parts of the 2 "D"s (or ONE "B") transforms the one "V" into THREE. Since the "V" has the value of 5 in the Spanish Alphabet code, the total value of the figure is either "17" or "25" which would the the distance value. The matter now is to determine if that value is in Veras or in feet. If you determine that the figure is on the top of the rock; parallel to the ground the value is in Varas. If you determine that the surface of the rock it's on is actually a SIDE face, the value is in feet.
A Vera is 32.8 Spanish inches which is equal to 30 American inches. The direction to travel is indicated by the arrow someone spotted OR by the center "V".
