Todays spelling

Tnmountains and Jeff of pa, in the same boat here...spell check just did me in several times. I one finger type, all ten fingers won't fit on an I-pad mini keyboard...there would be chaos for sure!
I wish you could see my screen as I type and all the "help" auto correct provides most times is hilarious!
I do text but don't know a lot of the abbreviations like I don't know what most of the ions mean.
I am lost in the e-world. The only "e" thing I really love is my detector with headphones!

Will someone please tell me "Zi" is or means? Most of the time when I hit the "I" key I get Zi, thank you auto correct!

I don't know why people like bzbadger think they are the super intelligent ones in the world.
I don't care to read this about about people misspelling words and people like bzbadger trying to down people and belittle someone else.

Number 9 as for you..do you have anyone else to complain about? I didn't have to interview anyone, conduct a study or take a poll. What I did was open my eyes and my ears and shut my mouth so I could learn a few things, you should try it, it's amazing what you can actually pick up. It's certainly easy enough when you do this to see and hear how bad our society has fallen in our academics. The statistics show that students can barely read and write by the time they hit high school and yet we seem to walk around in a blissful haze as if everything is ok.
Number 9 it's your privilege to write things about me, making your snide comments for what ever reason. Whether it's to make a joke at my expense or to elevate yourself in your own eyes it's perfectly fine because it's your opinion. I will give you some advice though and it's something I learned at a young age and took it to heart so hopefully you will as well....people may think you're stupid, don't open your mouth and prove them right.

That would be autocorrect as previously referred to and my phone loves to turn the word are into ate for some reason but good that you were able to catch that. Again im not here pointing the finger at anyone I am just commenting on how things are in a decline. Seems some on here feel it necessary to get their boxers in a bunch and want to go on the offensive towards me. I actually find it rather amusing and somewhat pathetic.

I think that one of the problems is the dependence on the various spell checking and auto-correcting software on computers, smart phones, and other devices. If your device is spitting out the wrong words too often, turn the function off. On my iPhone, the function is found in the settings.

I will add that since we have complete keyboards on most phones and on all tablets, laptops, and desktops, many abbreviations and all "text lingo" are likely a sign of laziness.

Some forums I frequent have a ban on unnecessary abbreviations of all kinds, primarily due to those forums being international in scope. Abbreviations and nonstandard spellings do not translate well.

I will not condemn any individual for poor spelling, if they are making an honest attempt to put thought to coherant written word. If I can not understand what they are putting to print, I will make that known.

When it comes to communication, it is deemed successful if others understand what you'we communicated. I am glad I was born in 1959, the closest thing we had to a smart phone was a CB radio. The new generations have been brought up with a keyboard and now smart phones. Who am I to complain about the evolution of communications/spelling. I am certainly glad we are no longer just pointing and grunting as we did thousands of years ago. I'm also glad that not only the elite have the opportunity for further education as was the norm centuries ago.

I try not to get offended for the little stuff, and most of the time it turns out to be little stuff.

Heck yeah I wanna go. You fly fishin? #9 I meant nothing harsh to you do please don't take it that way. I'm a country boy certainly not some city boy who likes to pick on others as they do sometimes. I'm just concerned about some things mainly because I'm a dad and I watch how my teens have been poorly educated by our schools and social media and it has been a real struggle to keep my kids on the straight and narrow with all the bad influence, I hope you and others can agree.

Overall the education level of the average American has been in the decline for several decades. You can trace it back to the appearance of the "New Math" - This is from a friend of mine who is a retired School Principle. This is from me - All part of a clever fascist socialist program instituted by the corporate elite to dumb down average Americans to the point that they can no longer spell, do simple math, or know much about their real history. They have been very successful, it is evident all around us everyday, all you have to do is look. When appropriate, the hammer of destruction will fall, and these poorly educated Americans will either be destroyed or forced into servitude to the corporate masters.

I don't believe teachers taught me anything .
they may have given me hints on things.
But I believe I taught myself.

Fact is I hated reading , Learning & research.
I hated the Whole process of going to school sooo much, that
the amount of time I spent taking off & ignoring the teachers probably would have earned me a seat on the Short Bus these days
back then I used invisibility & denial to my advantage.
