Today I started a new permission.
Its a place I've tried to get permission for before, but the old man told me ( people have been asking me for years, and im going to tell you what I told all the other people. NO WAY!!!)
So he passed away about 6months ago, and the kids sold. Ive seen the for sale sign for about 3months and been waiting patiently for the sign to come down so I can ask the new owners..
Well that day came last week, and I stopped and asked. The great thing is his wife use to teach were my daughter goes to school.
Im in like flint..lol
He told me to give him a week and come back. So yesterday I stopped again and he told me ok.
I said i will be back today..
After work I went there, and let me tell you, this is the hardest place I have ever hunted. So much iron, sounds like a machine gun going off in my head phones. I dont like running any disc. But here I had to, it it was filtering to much out. As soon as i went back to 0 disc. I started to get them little squeaks.
Anyway, not a hole lot found, but man the 1 real good keeper was all I needed here.
Also found some IHs, and a toasted KG111, I think I see 1773?
And a really cool clay marble. And some silver thing that looks like the end of a pipe?
I believe this place is holding out on some more great finds. Just have to be mentally prepared for it!
All that noise takes a toll on you.
Sorry I've been rambling on but I'm flying high on this one.
I've wanted one of these for a long time..
Ps, I DID IT AHAB8!!!!! LOL
Thanks for looking, and being there to share with you guys and girls.
George

George, again, many congrats for that rarely dug big silver. As we both know, those things are as hard to find as hens teeth. The saga continues .......

Thanks Bill,
Look forward to the next weeks!

That's a good list, but there's more to add. If anybody has a chance--it's George!

-lost confederate gold hoard

You sure did do it my brother! What a season you've had. That big Early American silver is killer. I hope the next one is a Draped Bust silver. The beauty of this hobby is that there's still hundreds of great coins and relics out there to be found. That bucket list will always be full of items we haven't found. I hope that Chain cent comes next buddy.

Unbelievable find Vino, you are on a heater, can't stop now, I think you need to go hunting tomorrow. LOL

Well, I took your advice and we went out and you killed it with your oldest coin!!! In amazing shape..

I know one thing.... glad I made the top 10 finds for the year $1 bet with Abe and not you. :)

Is there a possibility of finding a slave tag in PA?

Funny you said that.
I have been working on a permission that was the biggest underground railroad properties in Philly.
They are bringing me up this week at there monthly meeting.
I promised to give them everything I find for the tours and museum.
Its a Quaker Families estate.
If I found one, it would mean the word to me..
Keep your fingers crossed.

676 miles driving from Charleston to Philadelphia so I think that would be a pretty tall order! Would be curious to know how many, if any, have turned up outside of SC.

Just did a 2.5 day hunt and got sick right about the moment we started! Getting over it now, which is just in time for Ironhorse being back and ready to dig. :headbang:
