She has ruined my TH for life! First time out she gets this. A gold coin. Not just a gold coin but 7 Diamonds, an amithyst and these cool faceted teardrop Peridot, and smokey quartz, . But A Gold coin! Did I say first time out? Well she had a few minutes on the Ace250 that she found this with. Maybe 15 tops. and this is her first detector. Took it right over to the Jewelry store and they said? Yep it's all real and worth about $500 or more. Dang now I need a new wife to detect with as this one is in the dog house with me. :o) Well here it is. Anyone know what the coin is?? The whole thing is 9g on the scale.

Thanks

UPDATE,
The coin is solid gold, Roman and said to be minted between 211-226 AD and if real (not a copy) could be worth thousands. We will be sending it in to be checked out ;D

Wow, what a great story. And it happened right here in my littel town, Seattle. Well if I come across you guys around here, you'll be easy to recognize with all that gold hanging off her neck. Hope you both find much more, keep us posted.

Hi,

Is it real? If it is, its worth way more than $500.00 try $2,000 + Great find tell the wife WTG!!

Keep @ it and HH!!

Sweet find....My wife dont like to go, and thats not a bad thing. besides I dont trust The seeker in the woods near my wife. Never been to a beach hunt would like to go sometime.

Divorce would not be a good option, I'd say a trip to Alaska search'n for gold nuggets would be your best bet.

Wish I could get mine interested. I told her I was getting her a diamond ring for Valentines Day and that the detector would be delivered in time to go and find one. She thought I was serious. She's always right! you know.

Great find,
Smartin

hello

I have just one question.. in the design, why such a flimsy ear wire? with that much obvious worth (if the coin is real that is) why not have a safety clasp for the piece?

Just wondering

M

The wife tried to put it one but the wire is to thick. I took it in to have a double loop put on so she can wear it as a neckless.
Thanks

Just make sure to keep pursuing the value of the item so you can insure it properly. Depending on what you have now, your homeowners is good for up to $1500 in jewelry.... But more than likely with her rings she already has that spread covered, so what you want to do is get an inland marine policy and have that item appraised and insured for that value. It won't cost more than $100 a year more than likely, especially if you use the same company you have your homeowners with.

Congrats to your wife by the way!
