She has ruined my TH for life! First time out she gets this. A gold coin. Not just a gold coin but 7 Diamonds, an amithyst and these cool faceted teardrop Peridot, and smokey quartz, . But A Gold coin! Did I say first time out? Well she had a few minutes on the Ace250 that she found this with. Maybe 15 tops. and this is her first detector. Took it right over to the Jewelry store and they said? Yep it's all real and worth about $500 or more. Dang now I need a new wife to detect with as this one is in the dog house with me. :o) Well here it is. Anyone know what the coin is?? The whole thing is 9g on the scale.

Thanks

UPDATE,
The coin is solid gold, Roman and said to be minted between 211-226 AD and if real (not a copy) could be worth thousands. We will be sending it in to be checked out ;D

Congrats are in order for both of you ! For her because of her find and to you for having a wife who enjoys the hobby with you. Now take her to Las Vegas ! ;D

Huntin' 59er

She found this one all on her own. Heck I was doing my own thing and would only glance over her way every so often. She started to my left but the tide was up so we had very little space to hunt. Maybe 60ft from the water to the train tracks. I started at this big log and she was on my left but a few minutes later she moved up away from the shore where it was a little rocky and started working a spot of clean sand over on my right. no more then a couple minutes later she foud it ;D This beach is long but not wide. Been that way since I was a kid. Nothing like Cali and walking an hour from the parking lot through the sand just to reach the water.
Low tide will give us maybe an extra 20" or so to work. I love this as it keeps everyone in the same line down the beach. Not overwhelming for Nobies like us. I will shoot a pic today ;D Yes we are going back to try again. I may even find something this time.

I hope you get at least 15% .LOL Nice!!

I'll be in Seattle in June to visit my daughter and grand kids. If she isn't busy maybe she'd like to meet a handsome fellow from Oklahoma with like interests? ;) You better hang on to her, she's your best find! Monty

LOL... Wow she made an awsome find. I live in Spanaway....I was just pissing and moaning how much I hate this state. Our history doesn't go back very far. I suffer from MDFE.(medal detector finders envy) on account that most of the really cool old historic stuff is being found further East..... GG and HH

Thanks guys,
The wife says thank you and knows this was a lucky find for sure. Not going to keep her from looking for more goodies. She has decided she wants to have it made into a neckless piece so she can wear it. "She found it" I said it's up to you what to do with it. She says it will be bad luck not to keep her first find. She's so cute! I think I'll keep her. Heck she may find all our goodies ;D Me on the other hand have a bunch of catching up to do ;D I have found nothing but "Junk" Well not true I have found a few Penny's and then a lot of junk. I found a nice little park that I have known about since I was just a kid and it is hidden from the public. Well I have a feeling nobody has detected there yet as there is to much old "Junk" there. Only had about 10 minutes but one of the Penny's was rotten and when I tried to wash it it just fell apart. Now I have a half penny. I am swamped with work right now but as soon as I free up some time I will get over there and see whats really up.

hello

I have just one question.. in the design, why such a flimsy ear wire? with that much obvious worth (if the coin is real that is) why not have a safety clasp for the piece?

Just wondering

M

The wife tried to put it one but the wire is to thick. I took it in to have a double loop put on so she can wear it as a neckless.
Thanks

Hello
When you take in jewelery to be modified, keep in mind that some of those trusted people are treasure hunters themselves.. make sure you get the same stones back that you gave to them... just a note of concern..
I have lost earrings with that kind of wire on them, it just seems odd that that is what the designer chose.
